High praise from Mike Zarren:

"In my 20+ yrs w the Cs, literally no one has been a harder worker than @paytonpritch3. No one.

(Yes, I’m well aware of all the legends we had during this time!)

Super well deserved #Kiasixthman - but ZERO chance he relaxes even a moment after this. Grats! ☘️"

Today I learned Pritchard is part-Asian (from his mother side) though I already had my suspicions before.

Imagine this as a team by putting the All-time 6th men from Boston together.

Walton at Center, McHale and Havlicek at forwards and Brogdon and Pritchard at Guards :o
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Looking through the first few pages, this is one that BCGM got kinda right. Not a starter yet but could be for some NBA teams.

PP via Jack Simone:
"It's an exciting moment… but it's kind of like, I'm glad to get it, but my mind's quickly shifted to - the main goal is to win a ring. It's great to have this award, but to cap off the season, I'd much rather have a ring than an individual award.”

Only 2 games in but his defense has done more than hold up all while Providing huge offensive sparks.

I want to act like reading this wasn't a big deal to me, but it totally was.
There was always this thing I couldn't quite reconcile about his appearance.

It was a lot of fun watching him take on Banchero. He did a commendable job guarding him, despite the size mismatch. Yes, his defense has done more than hold up.

I know there's other teams in the league where he would probably start and put up some bigger numbers.

But I'm just saying, that on the Celtics, *this* role is perfect for him.

6th man. Energy, hustle, sparkplug off the bench. Scoring punch of the bench. Scrappy defender..playmaker. 3rd guard - 1st guard off the bench.

It's the perfect role.

Again, he could have a bigger role on other teams but those would probably be bad teams like Sacramento or New Orleans or Washington or Brooklyn.

If he's starting, the team probably isn't that good.

On a good team, a legit contender - a role like this is perfect imo.

I hope we keep him in this role for awhile.

This guard rotation is so damn good in terms of talent, depth and roster construction. With Jrue and White starting, Pritchard off the bench. Then JB and JT on the wings who are basically like guards out there too.

Hope we can keep them together till the wheels fall of of Jrue. But idk, at some point the size of that contract combined with Jrue going up in age and down in performance/health/durability might make it so we have to move him. Then I hope we keep Pritchard as 6th man. Either slide JB back in as a guard. or Get someone else to start in the back court with Derrick..

Who knows, Pritchard could win 6MOY another 3 times :)

I’m bumping this just to get on the record,

I really love watching Pritchard!! Love the way he goes all out any chance he gets, he’s tough, he’s fire, and he’s talented! I want the best for him for Us! The best from him for him! He’s so easy to root for because he’s always going max effort, good or bad! Never doubt his spirit!

I believe he’s going to have an amazing season, no doubt about it, he’s about to fire flames these dudes!! He’s likely going to do it as a starter.

I say that to say, people may think I don’t believe in him this season, because I’ll rave about his play, but I’m going to stand steadfast in believing he’s not a playoff starter! We’re going to love him this regular season, for sure! I just don’t want to be left wondering where the amazing went, where the regular season guy went to, when teams focus on him.

I’m not hoping I’ll be right though, I’m hoping for the opposite! I don’t NEED to be right, definitely don’t WANT to be right on this! I won’t say I told you so, but I will say I was wrong! I simply believe he should be the star in his role, off the bench. No one wants to be 6th man, even when they’re best suited for it.

It has nothing to do with Simons, I have more faith in Pritchard because I don’t know Simons or if he’s staying. Simons may not have what it takes to start in the playoffs either, he definitely hasn’t started or even played much at all when they got in with DAME and CJ.

This is about what I have seen from Pritch in the playoffs so far. Excellent role player at times, destroyed the psyche of Dallas twice when we won it all. I just think he’s better utilized from the bench.

If Simons ain’t it either, we better be looking for someone who is! We need to find a playoff caliber point guard, someone who is going to force the jays into a pace and not let them dictate everything at the end of games especially! They will get the ball, but we need to find the rondo! Someone who’s going to see the jays BS their way through a couple possessions in a tight playoff game and say, “I’m setting this up, I’m running this, you will get it based on what I’m feeding/seeing!”

If it turns out to be Pritch, great, I’ll be happy! If it’s Simons, great, I’ll be happy! Dark horse IMO, White, I’ll be happy! I just want a PG that can run things and get buckets while not being a defensive liability.

Give me another Jrue Holiday type! Impossible to get another Jrue, but give me a lite version! Someone who isn’t going to be played off the court and will just takeover without permission! Jrue was so underrated in how he’d go for it on offense during times where we were running in mud that Chip season. He’d just get it and make something happen. Sure, he let the Jays cook, but in key moments Jrue would know when to just do SOMETHING! When he wasn’t offending, he was clamping it down in noticeable moments! I don’t want another IT4. Fun asl as he was, it’s a no for me.

I just don’t want to get roped into, he was excellent as a starter in the regular season and we keep trying for a few season to make it translate in the playoffs. Like, once you start him you can’t put him back on the bench type situation, even though it’s not working.

Prove me wrong Pritch, I’m begging for it!!

I could see Pritchard playing close to the ripe old age of 40.

He'll definitely surpass 100+mil in earnings for his career.
