Re: 2025 NFL Draft
Yeah, whoever drafts Hunter needs to figure out his main position and use him periodically at the other position.
If anyone really plans on playing him full-time at DB and WR his career will be shorter than the average running back.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
Devin Hester is the only recent 1 that comes to mind but he fully transitioned positions from CB to WR. But I guess the integration process could be considered him playing both sides when he was technically a CB but began being used as a special weapon offensive player until he became a full time WR. I think Hunter will ultimately have to pick either full time WR or CB that might get to run a few routes per game and/or run an end around a time or 2. I’m pretty skeptical about Hunter mainly because of this. I think he’s a great athlete and a smart player but 1. He’ll never hold up trying to play full time both sides of the ball in the NFL and 2. I don’t think he’s the best CB or the best WR if you break down his positions so I’m having a hard time buying into the top player hype.

Hester sucked at both WR and CB.
Honestly the only one I can think of is Deon or early Woodson but they were extremely limited at WR

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
I think y’all are overthinking it on Hunter. He’s too good to not be useful in the pros. I get the hesitancy around playing full time on both sides, it’ll be tough for him to do that for sure.
But I think you’re nuts if you don’t think he’ll make a big impact on both sides in the pros, even if it’s as a part time two way player. He’s the top CB and WR in this class for a reason. There is no comp that fits. Deion didn’t play receiver in college. Hester didn’t produce at receiver in college. There’s a longer history of non-wrs that teams have tried to turn into receivers and such without it working consistently, but that is not Hunter. He’s produced at CB and WR like none other. He should go #1 IMHO. You worry about the fit and how much he plays which position later.

Starting to prepare for the Packers trading out of the first or drafting someone projected to go in the mid-second. The lower my expectations are, the less upset I'll be later.

Russini:
TRADE DOWN, GUTE.
The phone lines are getting busier as the first round nears, per sources.
The Broncos and Texans are attempting to move up the draft order, while the Giants are trying to acquire a second first-round pick at the back end of the round.
TRADE DOWN, GUTE.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
As much as I want to see a pick tonight, this draft is screaming trade down.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
Maybe Gute can pull a 2025 version of the Jaire maneuver again. 23 to the Giants for 34 and 65 and then use 34 and a 4th to sneak back into the end of the 1st round.

This live blog at the Athletic is a good one.
What's everyone making? I'm going wings. Made the very good NYT blue cheese dressing and I'm gonna try a sweet chili sauce recipe.

Remember in Jerry McGuire when they tried to paint the QB in kind of a bad light because he had "Team Cushman" hats made?
