Re: PG: Knicks @ Detroit- Game 3-Proud of my Knicks!
Big salute to OG, Kat, especially Brunson, and even Bridges.
ESPECIALLY the captain. Man, what this poor guy has to go through to get a bucket at the end of games, and still be the most clutch player in the league....standing ovation.
Just watch the last 3:40 of the game and keep your eye on Josh's man. Yet Kat and JB were still able to operate 4 on 5 and pull it out. Unbelievable play from these guys, considering what the buffoon on the sideline is putting them through.
You see, there are situations where there's an offensively weak guy on the floor, but usually that guy is a big man, who even though isn't a threat outside, if you're going to play an iso style at the end, it's better to have him in the game to get you those offensive rebounds and put backs, and be a shot blocker on the other side. It's a great thing to have to lock up at the end of games, get our isos because I get it, don't want to pass around too much, want to keep those turnovers down, make sure you get a shot every single time down...cool.....but wtf is an undersized poor shooting guy doing in there while this giant is sitting on the bench? Or put in another guard and go super small to give your all stars another target, another threat.
I digress....anyway it's so much fun watching JB. I don't care if he foul hunts. These dudes are talking a lot of ****...trying to lock him up, and he's trolling them. **** yeah lol...get those free throws. Even last game, he made it a mission to foul these mother **** out because they're trying to son him, but he's taking it personal. Sure, it leads to some selfish behavior, but the boy shows up and pulls it out. Even at the end of game 2, he had it, only if his boys didn't play like bumasses for just two minutes, that's all he asked for when triple **** teamed but no...clankity clank. Loving the moxie he's playing with...he's slowly becoming a villain. That's how you know we got a killer.

I think that’s what happened. He was embarrassed that he couldn’t move Mitch an inch and started freaking out.

heck of a win.
Josh had the intensity and did a little of everything
OG and Mikal BIG on both ends.
Brunson with a GREAT game. getting the others involved early and did his thing late.

I made it a point to focus on Mitch. His box-outs were horrific. Other than a few putbacks he was fairly useless out there. Pretty disappointed in how badly he played.
The team played so much better and they deserved the win, but they need Mitch to wake TF up.
At this point, give Precious some minutes if Mitch can't get it together.
What you're seeing is the product of a man who doesn't know what the **** he's supposed to do. It stems from not knowing when or even if he's going to get in the game. I'm going to name it....the Cam Payne effect. Mitch isn't mentally stable enough to handle this, he's a little off and naive, and Thibs isn't the kind of guy to handle a grown man with kid gloves.
If he's engaged by his teammates a little, it will help him play hard. Those that have balled have played with all kinds of different dudes, teammates. I had one that was emo like him....had to be involved or he was day dreaming on the court. Mitch is just running back and forth....but again, we don't run specific plays for anybody, if he can't get his, he can't get it....nobody's throwing him a bone, a lob, and he's disinterested. It's human nature.
All his positive attributes come from his physical abilities, not skills. He didn't lose them all of a sudden.
In my opinion, from what I saw, Kat has no chemistry with him, and when he was on the floor, he threw him a couple of zipping passes that were too fast for Mr. Stonehands. They were turnovers, he put his head down, sulked and next thing you know disappeared. Kat played with Gobert, he should know better, but I guess he doesn't expect anybody to be that trash.
When he's in the game, these guys need to shoot their shots and let him get misses, instead the bench comes in and they run motion, and then when he sits they go iso. It's why he should be in at the end of games with the starters, that's when he can help them the most when it's JB time. He's great at getting offensive rebounds when he can predict the shots, which isos allow. When Payne, Duece and others are running around firing threes, he's not as capable, because he boxes out for rebounds, long shots you need to track them, which Josh is better at.

If Mitch just had a bit better hands and could grab and dunk putbacks it would be huge. He has a couple but too often he just gets one hand on the ball and it goes off his fingers or something. If he was just more dangerous in the dunker spot it would help. Maybe getting through these playoffs healthy will allow him to be traded for a C with maybe a bit less rim protection but more mobility and offense. Like Kessler, or some big guy who can swing between 4 and 5
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Not much being said how we finally came into the playoffs with everyone healthy. Saying that, is Thibs taking advantage of the healthy bench. Precious and Delon Wright could be helpful situationally. But with Thibs it's like, he won't use some bench guys until a starter gets hurt. Rather than getting them in the flow a little bit

Apparently he is the solution to the SL but imagine if we actually started him over Josh Hart like some were suggesting. We probably are looking at a 0-3 deficit and facing elimination

I'm convinced that Mitch coats his fingers with butter before he enters the game. Kat fed him a few times last night and the passes went right through his fingers.

This is the most simplistic but yet SPOT ON post! Honestly, it shouldn't be that difficult to comprehend.
And Brunson got his 30 points but everyone else got touches.
This should be an every game thing. There's no reason why the ball shouldn't be shared. Karl, OG, Mikal should all be taking a good amount of shots.

The only difference between KAT game 2 and KAT game 3 is touching the ball. We cannot freeze this guy out of the offense. We have to go on the road to play with the right defensive intensity for some reason.
