Giannis has been himself the first two games. Assists are down but that’s on guys missing open looks, not him. The issue is that 34/18 from him doesn’t cut it when Prince/Kuz/Brook are digging a giant hole by giving the Pacers open layups and wide open threes since they can’t stay in front of anybody.

Like maybe Giannis can salvage one game in the series if he puts up 50 but he cants score the 120 or 130 himself that’s it’s going to require to win a game if they keep trotting out Prince/Kuz/Brook.

In conclusion, Pacers on four or five. Four if Doc rolls out the Land Before Time lineup to start the game so the Pacers can build a lead to silence the crowd.

Absolute best case in this series with Doc is Pacers in six if Giannis off in a couple games for 50, but that would be an all time carry job by Giannis to overcome how truly awful Prince/Kuz/Brook match up against this Pacers team. In all fairness to those three, they would also be awful in matchups against the Knicks, Cavs, and Celtics.

My point is he needs to focus more on shutting them down defensively and getting his 35 15 5. The 50 point splurge we’re going to get tonight will be nice though

I guessed right. They just subbed in Trent for Prince, left in Kuz & Brook.

Go bucks!

But it really does feel like Doc’s intentionally mailing it in.

With that said, this starting lineup should be an improvement.

That would be a huge reach, because we were taking issue about 3 guys. 2 are still in the lineup. IMO he kept in the 2 bigger offenders to the match-up/dynamic. If Prince just moved to the 3, most of the problem w/ him would have been solved.

I predicted Doc would do exactly what he did, because he was hedging, he had to do something, & he always picks the worst option. Trent-Dame has always been a bad defensive backcourt. Rollins & Green would have been the better option. KPJ even, cuz #1 we need to shore up the d.

I expect the role players for us to play better tonight and for them worse.

So since I've critiqued the Dame-Trent backcourt for months due to the d-ratings together every season & when I said this would be the least palatable improvement beforehand, I shouldn't be dissatisfied after he actually does it?

Bernman wrote:I did think he'd finally change the lineup cuz functional insanity has some limit. But the same decision maker who chooses the wrong path at the fork is still at the helm. So I think it'll be something like Trent at sg next to Dame, which means we're a moderately more palatable flavor of bad on d.

Tell me a time when we even disagreed on 2 starters the coach deployed. It's typically 0-1. Starters are normally a boring thing in bball. That we've disagreed w/ 2-4 starters throughout this series is insane.

It's the bare minimum adjustment which is about what I expected, if he did anything at all. It's better than nothing I guess, but still **** him. If AJ plays 12 minutes again and less than Prince he should still not be allowed in Milwaukee for game 4.

I agree the biggest issue has been D, I would literally play sims over brook in this series. He’s had a couple nice plays but overall he’s way more a net negative and unplayable, especially being down 2-0, we don’t have any more room for error

Trent's probably our best guard at fighting screens, not saying a whole but, but could help the Brook on an island scenarios. Who knows.

The offense w/ Trent in his most used lineups has been elite. So hopefully we can hang our hat on that, & Pacers just miss more shots, on the road.
