Yes and it was a fair debate to have 16 months ago. A lot has changed in that time. I think the debate officially ended last season.

Feel a little bad for Donovan Mitchell. He goes nuts and the team really played lazy basketball to close the game.

Biid's issue isn't BBIQ but rather he is too emotional. This leads to him trying to do too much to make up for things and also when his body is not right, he goes to woe is me mode. Its also why in most big narrative games he comes out terrible.

On a human standpoint I get it....but that has been the main source of the dookie ball times in big moments

I think experience improves your ability to make quick, smart reads, and that’s where Embiid falls short.

He hasn’t played in enough high level, high stakes games. Most of his basketball experience revolves around developing isolation scoring, playing garbage regular season games, load management, and beating up on weak 1st round opponents.

Risky job security move by Finch post game calling out Edwards effort/energy after that game. Couldn't help but think about if a coach would have done that to Embiid here (can't imagine it would go well if they did though).

I love it. It’s likely he has a great rapport with Ant and has a good read on how he’ll react to being called out like this (positive). Organizations that have a backbone encourage that kind of stuff and empower their coaches to give that type of criticism if it’s truly warranted.

A star is entitled to a bad or low energy night here or there. But a star player who is worth a damn won’t pout, won’t make excuses and will use that as fuel to take their game to the next level. A player like Embiid would do the opposite. What Ant does next will determine the type of player he is.

On isolation...sure.

In the context of salaries, flexibility and picks involved, yeah, no. Haliburton was already better than Harden this season, and that distance is only gonna grow from here on.

DIdn't see the game last night, but not stunned the Cavs are down 0-2. Mitchell is not a 1A. He's a ball hog and he's one of those guys that puts up hollow numbers. And he's not a good defensive player. No chance a team with Mitchell as their best player will ever win a title. It's just not going to happen.

Funny enough, I don't really blame him for the loss, especially since he was electric on offense. In fact, I feel pretty bad for him that his team couldn't get a crucial rebound when it mattered most.

Yea that loss was not on Mitchell at all. They were only ahead as much as they were because of him.

My post didn't blame the loss on him. It simply stated a team constructed with him as their best player will never win a title. He's not a 1A star. That doesn't mean all losses are going to be on him. It means the roster isn't good enough.

They were without Mobley and Garland.

Point is, you wouldn’t be here saying that now after he scored 40+ points last night if his team could grab one rebound.

Harden > Haliburton

Very questionable, and even though he was good while here, Harden was older and known for choking/disappearing. Trading Ben for Hailburton plus other stuff would been far better for the future of this franchise than trading Ben plus stuff for Harden.

It's a moot point now, obviously.
