Celtics have been here before.

2 years ago, they went down 3-0 against the Heat. Celtics had home court advantage in the series.

Celtics won the next 3 games, but couldn't win game 7. Heat went to the Finals

Difference this year versus two years ago. Celtics were facing a vastly inferior and overachieving roster in the Heat.

This time, Celtics face a Knicks team who had underachieved up until this series. This whole time, Knicks have had the most well rounded starting lineup in the league plus two top notch reserves in Mitch and Deuce who decided to turn it on exactly at the right time.

I agree with you

And it is why I've advised people to keep supporting our squad even if they have a bone to pick with Thibs, because we have the most talent of ANY starting unit in the NBA

We have grossly underachieved up to now

And even in these two games we've played poorly on offense for whole stretches of each game

But we're playing legit playoff defense now which we did NOT play in the regular season

And that is what is needed, because if they keep that up I expect the offense will improve as well

We still have lots of upside for us to level up and reach our potential. This was really only scratching the surface

yea that was stupid since I think they only had 2 team fouls at the time. and it's not like the knicks are this high powered offense lol

you would think there's a benefit to your team getting rebounds and running etc

Once upon a time in a land far, far away...if you didn't win a game against a team in the regular season, it meant you couldn't win a game against them in the playoffs...

All season long, folks really put their whole reputation on that theory...

I'm starting to think it's conditioning with Mitch because he's resting his hands on his knees when he can break. If so he should get better as we play more games.

Am I absolutely crazy for preferring to lose Game 3? As a 2004 ALCS survivor, I literally can NOT take another one of those or I might literally die.

My humble analysis of why these two games have played out the same way:
-- We don't have great offensive sets so we fall behind, but we play the whole game very physically.
-- Boston runs out of gas trying to keep up with us in the 4th (and OT) and we run wild all over them.
Is this because our guys are used to playing 45 minutes a game?

seemed like tatum lost his handle a little which caused him to not go into his move right away. otherwise maybe he could have gotten a shot off before OG recovered. either way though bridges was locked in and would have blocked him I think.

They gave him the same stuff that they gave Brunson after he injured his ankle last series.
