Good to see some of you wake up to the fact that Jaylen Brown never lived up to the hype.

How you're in the league for nine years and still have no handles and for as much as he tries to handle the ball, is not a reliable free throw shooter, is baffling.

But he's great! Hell,elite!

Don't believe me? Just ask him...he'll tell you.

Even when Tatum does return, they need to find a true Alpha to pair with him. Need a lot of luck or a miracle for that to happen.

Lost in the Tatum injury is another blown lead and another poor game from pretty much everyone other than Tatum. Snd even Tatum is at fault for trying to win it by himself. The lack of trust and willingness to share the ball was evident throughout this series by Tstum and brown. Holiday and Horford are too good not to have more dhot attempts. Joe once again fsiled to adjust and was outcoachex. He may very well turn into sn excellent head coach but he’s not one yet

Defense wasn't good
White was bad on defense and NY attacked him in the 3rd and 4th

JT did all he can, he did pass a couple of beautiful assists, but mostly the passes weren't there for a lack of movement and cutting

This is the first game NY actually won, as we played bad defense

Hope JT is well and the injury is minor

Looks either too tired or disinterested to play proper bball. I was angry and predicted a loss when watching that during the game.

I think it was Tatum realising it was basically him or bust and being too confident in his shot.

Brown and Porzingis being awful in the playoffs isn’t being spoken about enough. It’s all well and good for everyone to blame some flaw in our offensive philosophy but we’ve got next to nothing good from both of them.

Porzingis was killing the Knicks in the regular season.

everyone blaming JB is craaaaaaaazy. KP and Joe are most to blame if you ask me and obviously injuries have taken a toll.... Doc Rivers would have done a better job with this crew then bubble gum Joe, he was outclassed all series longggggggg. JB been playing banged up all playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets his knee scoped in the off season. Winning back to back championships in the NBA is no easy task. C's will be back. F that rebuild crap, time to reload! Obviously change is coming, lets wait and see on JT's update.....

I think this injury makes a full rebuild possible especially considering the cap situations. So White, Brown, and Jrue could all be gone if the price is right. I think other than Pritchard, I could see everybody else gone lol

I would not trade White, tbh. His contract is really good, Jrue, Brown(if the price is right) and KP, I guess...
Good assessment:

Whatever happened to KP really killed the Celtics chances prior to the Tatum injury. Our chances were not looking good with a washed up Jrue and Al to a lesser extent. Then you had Hauser who looked like he didn’t belong in the league half the season and was unplayable all playoffs. You really were down to the Jays, white, and PP. Brown was banged up heading into the playoffs. KP being an all around offensive guy was supposed to mask all those other areas where guys were performing poor on offense. Sadly we got absolutely nothing from KP all playoffs, couldn’t shoot at all over smaller players, missed free throws, couldn’t defend and block shots. Such a shame since he closed the regular season looking strong and then poof, he disappeared.

How good would we have been if we kept Springer and played him for his defense for about 12-15 minutes a game? He would have slowed down Brunson.
How good would we have been if we had last year's Jrue and not the one that was half the player this season as last?

None of our starters played any defense except for Tatum getting in the passing lanes for steals. Joe played the starters too many minutes most of the season.

Jaylen brown is a good player. He’s clearly injured. He has no lift rn.

Knicks fan coming in peace.

First, I hope JT fully recovers.

Second, this stinks for Celts fans but let's face it, they pushed all their chips to the middle of the table when they signed KP, Jrue, and Al, got a championship out of it, and now will be bad for at least a few years.

Third, PP is the Celts second best player after JT (once he's healthy). JB can't dribble, catch the ball, or shoot consistently. Due to his lack of handles, he can't get to the basket as a slasher (in other words, he can't face up his man with a dribble but can only put his back to his man and try to spin). Jrue is basically cooked (could be a good bench player for another year or so). Same for Al. KP - who knows.

Fourth, to be honest, even if Tatum is healthy, they weren't winning it all this year without KP being a force in the post (or anywhere for that matter). This is because the Celts have no post game. Live by the 3, die by the 3.

Also didn’t help that Jaylen had multiple awful possessions while we were rolling.

He was a complete momentum killer all night.

The team was absolutely horrific outside of Tatum.

White had a great 1st half.

Tatum was great like you said. Terrible coaching by Joe in entire series outside of game 3.

We should be up 3-1 instead of being down 1-3. Joe was a big reason why we lost those 3 games. Last season he got a pass because we won a title on an easy road to the finals.

They have not executed in close playoff games consistently virtually since 2018.

It’s been an inherent flaw with teams led by them in basically every playoff run.

We won last year because we had so much talent it didn’t even matter.

Seriously, how many times since 2020 in the playoffs have we had bad losses because of dumb shots, sloppy passes etc?

That final play with Tatum going down was like a perfect representation of all the bad parts of their run.

Lazy sloppy pass, screwing around against a hungry team and bad injury luck to top it off.

Thankful we won last year and will always cherish that but I don’t think we ever got past the same issues with Tatum and Brown.

You can blame Joe but it was the same under Ime and Brad.

Maybe Tatum was doomed no matter what but we should have been up further in the third and maybe Tatum wouldn’t have been playing deep in the fourth.

Ime and Brad got the most out of their teams. They didn’t lose Playoff series they were heavily favored in. Joe has done it twice in three years.

We were heavily favored against the warriors, and Ime’s stubborn attitude cost us a championship that year. Though losing to the knicks 1st two games at home because the coach didn’ t adjust was a fireable offense. So sick of the 3ball iso ball offense

They were not heavy favorites against the Warriors

JT looks exhausted. He gets a pass for this bad possession.

The basic premise of the criticism (that the Celtics stand outside the 3pt line and chuck low yield 3PTA) is entirely true. And Joe and his team of thirtysomething assistants and front office guys can "stand by the analytics" all they want but it is not a coincidence that the two series Joe lost are to Spoelstra and Thibs who are 90s coaches who work for makes, including using the midrange (jimmy and Mikal Bridges both cooked us) and work for stops and are simply not young/naive enough to be fooled by the Kool Aid that no-pass possessions without player movement but that end in a 3PTA are good possessions.

We went from +195 to win the championship to +2500 just like that.

Maybe, just maybe we can be annoying and drag this series out lol.

Really hoping that injury wasn't what it looked like and that JT can make a full and quick recovery. He seems like a really classy guy in addition to being a formidable opponent. We're not out of the woods yet with you guys as there's still a ton of talent on your squad that can hit with a flurry of threes and the elder statesmen can often turn back the clock for a few games.

Title window officially closed, rebuild starts Wednesday.

Yeah…for sure. Don’t show up at home, lay down, then trade all the players. Great idea. Most of this fan base 100% doesn’t deserve to see another winning squad. How many times do we need to see that tanking does not work?

For sure. Glad we have true fans like you to keep it real. Keep up that same energy if JB gets exposed again in game 5 or KP blows out his knee playing in a meaningless game and we further set back our franchise.
