Only blaming Mitchell is wrong. Realizing that Mitchell deserves part of the blame is correct. He shot poorly for the series, and that's his primary value on the team.

Actually surprised his fg% and ts% ended up being that low.

Maybe because he did better compared to the other guards. It was still bad, but the other guards were even worse.

Keep everything the same. Try again next season. Best of luck.
However sending Mobley to Lakers would be a good move too.

That's very generous of Cleveland. What do they get back, though?

I agree with the sentiment that Garland needs to go for a bigger guard next to Mitchell. A guy like Suggs could be the pick. Not sure if either team does it or it needs fillers plus picks from one side but it makes sense to me. Magic need scoring, Cavs need guard D.

Mobley keeps getting better so they’ll get better just by his yearly progression alone.

I like Allen and I think he’s needed but would move him for the right piece.

They’ll be fine. Just tinker around the edges, continue to develop Mitchell/Mobley chemistry and run it back.

They need Lebron to decline his player option and sign with the cavs for the MLE. Run it back for a 3rd time.

2nd apron teams do not get the MLE. The most the Cavs can offer LeBron is the vet min.

Run the whole crew back. Slow roll into the season like Pacers and Wolves. Then build momentum towards end of season. NBA seasons are too long.

Oh man that’s harsh, these 2nd apron restrictions are brutal.

They run it back and hope to be healthy. They're basically locked into this team, due to 2nd apron rules. Whether or not they wanted to be invested in the core 4 has past, this is their team now.

They'll make some noise still but it's yet to be seen if the rest of the team was ready for a deep run, I can't fault folks for being skeptical until they prove otherwise.

There's a similar post on the Pacers forum after LeBron said players will want to play with Tyrese.

Not sure why they went out and got him in the first place, but Cavs also need to move on from Max Strus at all costs. Never really seen a role player consistently choke in BIG ways like he does in the playoffs. Not to mention I can't imagine it sat very well with his teammates receiving that "motivational text" only for him to go 0-9 in the series-deciding game.

As for my advice… it sounds crazy, but shop Mitchell. He’s killing your team offensive flow. I know how good he is, but you also see how he marginalizes everyone else, particularly Mobley. Free Evan Mobley!

Unlike Garland or JFro, Spida would have an absolutely huge selling price. People want a proven playoff scorer, and maybe some team with a different guard rotation (bigger guys) can fit him in better.

I don’t believe this will happen, but I still think it should. Mitchell-led teams don’t get it done.

If I was Mobley, I'd prioritize getting away from Mitchell-ball even over signing a supermax. If CLE told him Mitchell was the guy they were hitching the wagon to long-term, i'd forego the supermax just to get clear.
He already signed it last summer lol Mobley is under contract until the summer of 2030.

Ok, so the Supermax is just something that kicks into your existing contract, not something you opt in/out of? I've never really had much interest in how stuff like that works...

Run it back, it's a young team with a core that just won 64 games and was the 1 seed. They would have won if a bunch of their best players all didn't get hurt at the worst time. Not to take away from Indiana, they're truly impressive, but I do think a full strength Cavs team is a legitimate contender and on a different level.

Yup, he was set to get 25% of the cap with his extension but he won DPOY so now he gets 30% instead.

I wish they would get rid of the supermax. I'm afraid everything will go right for the Magic one season, and Franz and Paolo both make the all-nba team.

Too bad it's a pick swap so Cavs wouldn't even be able to keep it, whomp whomp.

They have two point guards and two bigs. Trade one point guard and one big for one or two wing players. Problem solved.
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

They are a very soft team and way too redundant in both the frontcourt and backcourt.

Altman has wasted a bunch of money signing and/or trading for roleplayers (Niang, Strus, Hunter, Okoro, Wade) who have all been disappointments in the playoffs. I don't know the answer but they only have about a 6 week window remaining until they are locked into being a 2nd apron team.
