Maybe his injured left ring finger is affecting his confidence to knock down threes?

KAT's is mostly scoring in the paint or going left as seen in the shot chart.

He is 2 of 13 from three against the Celtics

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=karl-anthony+towns+shot+chart+last+5+games

Our offense gives him zero opportunities to shoot threes. It's not even in the game plan. Thibs only knows how to use big men in the paint, rebound and defend. This is why I posted earlier about packaging him for Giannis in the off-season. If the FO is gonna continue to go with Thibs then might as well get a big man that fits in with his scheme.

Even though I knew it was coming, it didn't matter. I have a nagging feeling it is more than just an inability to close out type loss, there is probably something bigger at play here and dear lord if the worst case scenario happens, holy ****.

I thought the ptsd of the garden was gone after we won last game but the way we lost this one, I think it completely brought it back. I'm now 100% sure the garden will be tight as **** with massive ptsd in game 6.

Silver wants game 6 at MSG and to keep the playoffs rolling. This 3rd quarter was one of the most blatant fix jobs of recent memory. Most FTA Celtics had in a quarter this series was 11 and that was 1st quarter game 1 while refs were feeling out the series. They've averaged 21 FTA per game this series.

20 FTA in the 3rd quarter alone plus 5 fouls on brunson in the quarter alone is just completely obvious and sad really.

The league didn’t use to be this blatant, but I think with more “parity” they got to do more to give one side a legit edge over the other. Back in the day it would have only needed 20 FTA or 5 foul on Brunson to give a team an edge. Doing both and the fouling him out right when clutch time, aka his highest scoring period begins is just ridiculous overkill.

The problem is the Celtics have confidence now. They blew us out without Tatum. Also since Luke balled out, expect to see him replace Porzingis. Gotta get this next one. None of us want to see game 7.

Kornet is who he was every other game this series and he’ll get eaten up if the Knicks aren’t in foul trouble less than 4 minutes into the third quarter and Brunson doesn’t pick up 5 fouls.

I refuse to play along with Kayfabe and be scared of the Celtics now.

I’m curious but how old are you?
I have been watching since 94, and this was expected lol
I didn’t think we would win this game, I thought we would win the next though.

That’s what I think as well, Thibs doesn’t know how to coach this sort of team
He’s stuck in the 90s
Either you get a modern coach who can coach it
Or you keep Thibs and get him “his type of players” - please fire Thibs

I think there's three things about this game.

1) The refs - this is expected
2) Boston playing hungry - this is expected
3) The team playing weak - not expected

I can barely handle losing. Can't handle it when KAT or OG is playing dumb, or Thibs is coaching like a ****head.

Game 1 18 assists
Game 2 17 assists
Game 3 23 assists
Game 4 15 assists
Game 5 27 assists

It’s clear that when they move the ball instead of over relying on ISO play, they play better. It gets their role players involved & engaged and leaves less bad possessions for Tatum and now Brown to try to Kobe it.

Even then, we had this W in the first half. Brunson stopped being as much of a floor general and we got out of wack. What we need is game 4 Brunson where he picks and chooses his spots but he’s diming guys up all night.

This team has been completely unreliable all season so this loss is not a shock at all.

This series can still go either way and, if we lose, it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise considering how we have played all season.

Kornet had as many 5 blocks between the 8:19 and 2:27 marks

At 8:19, the score was 68-72

At 2:27, the score was 76-89

Kornet alone stopped us from scoring up to 10 points. He destroyed our momentum in the 3rd. What a wild card. If it wasn't for Kornet, we could have kept it close going into the 4th. He completely took us out of our rhythm.

5 blocks in less than 6 minutes is insane.

He just completely ignored Hart. I looked back at the shots in that quarter and Kornet might have challenged 80-90% of the Knicks shot attempts. Hart hit 2 threes to start the quarter and they still didn't guard him and Hart still ended up turning down some open shots.

Hart has to keep shooting. Otherwise maybe we need to bench him when Kornet is in the game.

caught up after work. yuck. looked like a classic for a half.

then boston goes super saiyan for tatum and put belt to ass. would have loved to see more fight. team fell apart, got out of sync and stayed there.

someone grabbed josh hart's dick and split his head open. then he hit 5 threes and mitchell robinson shot like steph at the line. insane night.

It wasn't until 3 minutes left in the disastrous third quarter that this man decided to make substitutions. His star player was getting into foul trouble....still nothing.

Your boy's entire offense is his point guard. Fine. But where is his defensive genius, the reason he's still in this league. Reverting back to not switching because of a change in their lineup, something that didn't work all year, but he goes back to because that's what he likes and letting White go Steph Curry on you....brilliant move. They lost their main iso guy, so knowing that they're going to bomb on ball movement and kick outs more than ever, he goes back to his defensive scheme that blew us out every time, not going along with the change he made to get a 3-1 lead. Master plan.

It really goes to show you what an egotistical, stubborn coach he is, unwilling to adapt. Most of the stuff we applaud him for that works happens by circumstances, like Hart being in foul trouble last game and forcing him to sit that helps us go on a run, or a player getting injured and then getting forced into looking at and inserting someone else to get minutes who could've helped all along (Divincenzo, Duece, etc).

This piece of **** has turned Kat, who was on fire when he got here because they were not overthinking and just playing ball, into Joakim Noah, and he's fine as long as Josh Hart gets touches. That third quarter was just Hart and Brunson, like it was an episode of The Roomates Podcast, and he was fine with that instead of getting Kat going. Made me want to vomit.

They have a center guarding our small forward and a guard guarding our center, Mazulla is giving him an elementary level coaching adjustment, and this **** guy can't figure it out.

I keep hearing he's this evil genius that stays up all night game planning....so why are we always down double digits with this amazing game plan. It isn't until the fourth in crunch time where the players throw his bull **** out the window and Brunson takes it into his hands that we get a chance.

We will win, but despite him.
