Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 1
This offseason is a crossroad. Only 2 legit options to go from here. We either :
1) Get KD CHEAP, while keeping enough around him to be good and not give up our future for a year or 2 of an upgrade.
2) If we can't get him CHEAP - go the other way. Sell anything we can get good value for, use next 2 years to rebuild, develop young guys, add assets, add high lottery picks.
Anything in between - which really means being passive and undecided - will result in shambles.

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 1
I’ve said this before: they’ve been a treadmill team for a decade, and there’s no path out of it as long as they keep doing this patchwork job every time instead of properly resetting. Going after someone like KD now would just be the latest example of burning assets to stay mid.
We saw it clearly during the years when Wade was the guy with nothing but first-round exits to show for it. The only times this franchise has ever won anything was when they had multiple elite, All-NBA-level players: Shaq/Wade, then LeBron/Wade/Bosh.
The sad part is they continue to ignore this reality and pretend they can compete with subpar talent. "Heat Culture" has become more of a crutch than a strength. This Jimmy era may have done more long term damage than the short term dopamine rush was worth.
The franchise is stuck in a loop. And unless something completely unexpected happens, like Herro making a Brunson level leap, there’s no real path to contention. That’s what it’s come down to: betting on miracle development while clinging to a flawed identity.
Their own history makes it plain: every championship was built on multiple All-NBA guys. Until they accept that, they’re just going to keep spinning their wheels.

Hopefully Spo's assistants all go elsewhere, we neds fresh ideas and new voices in the worst way.
How would you feel if Juwaan Howard came back?

I want proven guys from other systems.
Guys that were in charge of successful offenses of other teams mainly.

Sixers are desperate to get off damaged goods lol. George must have something degenerative going on. Durant to Sixers makes zero sense though. This is operating under the premises that Durant won’t play under an extension which is comical to ask at this age. Now Lauri Markkanen to Sixers and George to Utah could have some legs. Utah has plenty of cap space to waste and for that 3rd pick could be worth it for them.

Sounds like it’s time to pull the plug on the KD fantasy and Giannis delusions.
Where I can sign the petition to blow up the roster?
Admittedly just as much of a fantasy and a delusion as the others but at least it’s pragmatic
Though have an unsettling feeling that the whale that Pat will land and sell to the fanbase on will end up being Derozen

Giannis was always the major pipe dream because of the assets needed to get him compared to the competition. Durant still has a very high probability of happening.

Heat already started developing young players. This is probably the youngest Heat roster since the Rasual Butler era. What do you want 100% of the roster with less than 4 years of experience? What team does that?

Yeah if the 6ers drive up the price for KD they can have him...time to rebuild.

If we can't land KD, or another star this offseason, then we should be shopping Bam and sending him to a legit contender for assets back.

They ain’t driving anything up. Suns are not taking back Paul George. Going to be a bunch of misdirection going on in the next month.

If suns take the 3rd overall pick and Paul George it won't be without trading Devin booker for their picks back so they can do a full rebuild. Dbook is 28, will be 29 when next season starts. Dude ain't gonna wait around for a 3-4 year rebuild.

KD is gonna go where he wants to go. That might not be here, but I can't see it being Philly.

Suns are looking to get out of the tax and not saddle themselves with bad contracts. Zero chance the Sixers are going to trade a cost controlled top 3 pick for the privilege of signing another aging star in Durant. Baseless click bait story lines

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 1
If we end up having to replace Quinn, Juwan is a no thanks. We already have a Juwan Howard type of coach on the staff in Caron Butler. We need a more technically sound guy that can challenge spo’s thinking in defensive and offensive sets. Juwan was nothing more than a cheerleader for us during games, he was more of a hands on coach in practice.
I honestly thought he got too much credit in Michigan. And he stuck around longer because Michigan didnt want to lose his two sons who were highly recruited

No, we need new blood on the staff that is proven offensively. No more “yes men”
