Re: Official NBA General Discussion 2025-26 V1.0
OKC defense is ridiculous though, it actually makes 19 Raptors defense look normal.
Their worst defender in the top 7 is legit SGA, which is crazy cause SGA is a good defender.
Their offense comes and goes so I would favor KD/Curry GSW over them in 6 games but yea this is a tough championship team and right there with last year Boston.

I guess the US media will now big up Halliburton as the next US superstar?
It’s actually quite hilarious how their last true superstars are all from the previous era.

Youngest team in the NBA btw.
You could label this a "development year" for them and not be wrong lmao

Random comment.
I tried really hard this season to like another team other than the Raptors for these playoffs. I just don’t care about these other teams - especially those lead by combo guards lol.
Maybe seeing Butler win one with Steph would have made me care.
Maybe seeing Joker put himself up there with the top 5 of all time by winning another championship or two for the lack of respect he gets.
Other than that, I really don’t care about any of these other teams. These combo guard teams are so boring to watch for me man and I hope the nba teams figure out a strategy to neutralize them. Also, need these Raptors to become a good team.

The whole face of the league thing is dead anyways. There’s too much parity.
No player will be able to dominate and pull off 3 peats like before.

Re: Official NBA General Discussion 2025-26 V1.0
about that
the NBA hype machine and social media really tried to sell Anthony Edwards and I did buy it for some time, but dang, this showing from "ant" has been absolute ass. Comparisons to Michael Jordan
that leaves you with hali, brunson, siakam, shai, edwards, gobear, randle
the ending I would like is for Siakam to get his second ring. but this year has the free throw merchant's name all over it. that's what will keep be engaged with the playoffs, but we will come to know soon how it all forms together.
i can appreciate the parity though

It’s less about face of the league and more about a player with an aura that you can see as a legend one day. There’s no player you turn on the TV to watch play from another team, at least not from this era. Something is off with this era of basketball. Maybe it’s the parity and a different team winning every season.
Jokic is the closest there is and the NBA tries hard to never talk about him.

Idk about that. Wemby is easily going to be the face of the league or w/e you just said in 2 years max. Its just tough with Lebron and Curry still in the league and playing at top 10 ish level.
face of the league is usually a top 3 player that is the most marketable, and people want to watch.. box office. SGA is not as marketable as his peers (Ant/Tatum) so he likely never gets to be that. Wemby will check all those boxes soon.

Wolves defense been disappointing to me last 2 games. They are not trying to get the ball out of SGA hands enough. I get OKC depth is better but I would take a chance on their "others" beating me on offense.
Letting Shai get 30 shots and now 24 shots through 3Q in 2 win now games is crazy. Literally you can just trap him once he crosses half court and see if Jalen can make you pay.

Its because Jokic treats the game as a mundane 9-5 and disconnects himself from it lol
The NBA is all about money, promotion, attention whores and stars like Jokic are not good for the game

Jokic SGA and Giannis are all anti-hype stars. They are humble, team-first players and personalities.
The only current top 5 player who has the prima Donna personality is doncic. We shall see how that works out for the Lakers. I'm curious that doncic will even sign to an extension this summer.....and if he doesn't it will be crazy.
It's like high character guys are taking over the league and I dig it.

Yeah I thought it was insane the way they chose to guard him this series. McDaniels is a great defender but nobody can guard SGA 1 on 1 and he's going to figure it out in a 7 game series. Denver did the smart thing not even chancing it.

yea, Shai is in his prime and a elite ball handler (Daniels weakness as a defender). But its just crazy comparing the defensive attention Ant got vs Shai this series. Now SGA would have still probably figured it out but you can't allow him shoot this many shots giving up switches he wants.
But also have to respect OKC defensive personell. They can play that away on defense because almost everyone they play gets into it and on a string on defense. Wolves just were not in tune as much even in zone they made mistakes.
