Not getting Ingram play as a Raptor last season remains a big disappointment. It would be a nice source of optimism to have seen him alongside his co-stars for 25/26.

Two things:

1) I'm so hyped for BI next year. Now I have to insert the obligatory "health" caveat.

2) Wu_Tang just want you to know I appreciate you man. You're always posting stuff that I otherwise wouldn't see. Thank you.

Agreed on both points.

Ingram gives me Derozan vibes from a personality standpoint. Easy going & quiet nature, cares about his teammates, hard worker & just a good overall dude.

He should be a lot of fun. At his best, he's probably a top-3 scorer in franchise history... which is not a trivial thing. And he is a willing passer coupled to isolation skills and shooting ability, a real 3-level scorer who doesn't mind moving the ball. That should be fun!

#3 behind Prime Vince and Prime Kawhi is not trivial at all.

Right? So, that's going to be a lot of fun for however many games we get out of him, I think.

To me, Ingram is basically Paul George without the defense. If you compared their offensive production and impact to the same point in their careers (~age 27), I imagine the numbers would be nearly identical.

I think BI is a more diverse scorer than Kawhi. He can score fairly efficiently from pretty much anywhere on the court & in a variety of ways. Spot up, pull up, fade away, off balance. He makes tough shots.
I think BI will be a better passer/ playmaker than Kawhi as well.

Kawhi was big and strong and it was difficult to stop him from getting to his mid range spots. He was just a force. Power vs finesse.

On the defensive end.......there is no comparison though.

I am so curious to see how BI's game evolves here. It will be interesting to see if Darko asks him to simplify his game a bit (for system purposes & for injury prevention)

Pretty big difference in their usage of shots around the elbow/nail. Pretty big difference in their shooting ability there, too. BI's also historically been better at drawing fouls (though as you say, limiting that to PG at 27 helps close the gap, for obvious reasons).

George was materially worse as a mid-range scorer, though, so I don't see him as a strong comparison for BI on offense.

I'm impressed by the couple of tweets on this page. But is he really a better scored than DeRozan straight up?
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

He's been about a 23/5/5 guy for the past 300 or so games (6 seasons). In 2020 and 2021, he was a 104 and 102 TS+ guy, so that's a single-season peak a little north of DeRozan's performance with Toronto. Superior passer, worse at getting to the rim, dramatically superior 3pt shooter.

We'll have to see what he looks like for us, how healthy he is, etc.
