It's not like the Pacers are that much older than them or more experienced. The Pacers went from no playoffs, to ECF, to finals in the same time period the Thunder went no playoffs, first round, second round, finals.


If the Pacers win, I think other teams will try to emulate the pressing defense, for years we heard that teams don't press because it wouldn't work.

Because he's a bench player and shared the same position as Randle who played a zillion minutes every game. Thibs didn't like his flashy dunks and lack of defense.

Haliburton, Nesmith, Nembhard, Mathurin are all in the same age group maybe a year apart. Mathurin is like the youngest of all of them and he’s been busting their ass in the series. Pacers aren’t some vet group with much experience

Like many have said it was abysmal asset mgmt.

But what I’m more pissed about is the lack of recognition of how crucial our bench strength was particularly at the 4.

To start the game 5 2nd half vs CLE, Randle went out and Obi had 12 points in that 3rd quarter to help cement the series W.

In game 5 vs MIA, Knicks were down 24-14 entering the 2nd. Randle was awful in the first and we looked like we were going to get blown out on our home floor. Obi comes in to start the 2nd while the other 4 who closed out the first stayed in. We went on a 18-2 run to start the 2nd.

Spoelstra pointed to that second-quarter start as the breaking point. The Knicks started the second quarter with an 18-2 run in the first three minutes after scoring just 14 first-quarter points.

Then Randle got out of his own head and had a really solid 2nd half to help us win it.

it was a strength that we had a guy this potent if called upon. This isn’t conjecture. I just gave you real life examples in the playoffs.
