I think depending on what the offer is that both the Spurs & Rockets can top any trade offer the Wolves can make it they truly have McDaniels off the table.

Vassel or Green along with picks and cap space are better offers if true.

Yes either player is kind of redundant with Booker & Beal on the Suns but they should truly go full rebuild and also move Booker who's soon to be 29 as well this off-season.

And he spreads the floor how? I mean if Suns want P&Rs and DHOs it's fine. If Poeltl in a 3way with Spurs, ok. Not sure who would go where besides KD to us.

Not to mention Bam is 27 and KD is 36. Trading for KD is for about a 2 year title window which there is no point in even pursuing for the Heat without Bam to play alongside him. That idea made zero sense for Miami...heck they don't even want to part with Ware for him.

Wolves fans, what do you think fair value is?

I can't speak for all Wolves fans obviously, but I'd be shocked if any of us would be ok with including McDaniels in a Durant deal. Players I'd be ok letting go that have any kind of value:

Donte
Randle (depending on how much he'll be asking for)
Gobert
NAW
Conley

Gobert and NAW are probably the only 2 that would be desireable to other teams, and even then it would be very specific teams (they need a defensive big man as that last piece, they need a 7th or 8th man in NAW, etc.)

Neither of those guys are positive players on their contracts, so it better be a lot of picks.

And that’s the point though, right? It’s not who CAN make the biggest offer - it’s who WILL. And that’s if PHX doesn’t care where KD wants to go, which I doubt is true.

Durant to the Heat doesn’t make sense. We’re nowhere near championship contention, and as a 37-year-old, KD needs a true 1A player to team up with, Bam and Herro aren’t that. Plus, we have the weakest offer for KD, and I’m not willing to sacrifice Ware’s potential for a two-year rental that will not result in a championship.

Please, Western teams, step up so we can dodge the bullet.

If they want a center, I suppose Wolves trade would make the most sense but I am not sure how numbers work for two teams over the tax. Do they have to match dollar for dollar? How does that help Phoenix cut salary?

Sengun for Durant would probably work under the CBA. That would reduce Suns’ tax bill tremendously and give them a young center.

In order for MIN and PHX to avoid hardcapping their payroll at the first apron, neither team can take back more salary in a trade than they can take out. This really means a third team must be included, to take back a little salary.

If Suns want a C, Porzingis is available, Cavs want to shed money and have two Cs, JJJ is up for a massive contract Grizz may not want to pay. It would take however many teams but there are C options out there.

Why would KD want to go to Miami

Their roster can't contend

The East is pretty wide open next season.

Wide open for a playoff seeding, but that's about it. Once you get into round 2 you're still facing very good teams, and not to mention if the goal is to win a championship you have to stack up with the best in the West.

KD clearly isn't hungry to win championships if MIA is on his list. This should scare HOU and SAS who would be giving up real assets

No state income tax would be my guess.

You'll have the Pacers, gotta give them their due.

Other than that, what Cavs and Knicks (who currently don't have a head coach)?

Celtics Tatum is rehabbing a torn Achilles and Brown rehabbing a torn meniscus.

Bucks Dame is rehabbing a torn Achilles and Giannis may be traded.

76ers, Embiid's knees are probably bone on bone, PG can't stay healthy, McCain rehabbing his meniscus, and #3 will be a rookie. Maxey is nice and so is Grimes but they need to pay him.

Gotta see what the Pistons and Magic do in the off-season.

Hawks and Bulls seem too far away to even mention.

That seems way more appealing than going to the Wolves or Spurs and fighting through the West gauntlet.
