Re: What happens to Beal?
Expecting a Shams bomb regarding Beal exercising his NTC to block another deal agreed on in principle.

The only team that doesn't laugh at these offers is Portland and Beal says no.
Perhaps Beal + #10 to Portland with a buyout for Beal arranged. Not a waive and stretch, just a waive and eat a bunch of dead money for 2 years then be done with it.
Bulls should offer Vucevic/Ball/Williams for Beal + 10.

They can get like $20m under the tax line if the stretch and waive Beal. They can reset repeater and add an MLE player.
I think it's pretty tempting for them.
What’s the longer term cap implications of that though? There’s a reason stretching contracts that big generally doesn’t happen.
Matt Ishbia wastes so much money, lol
How do get that rich without any money sense?? lol
Nepo baby. More dollars than sense.

Any LA teams, Spurs, maybe Hous. That's about it, doubt he goes any where in the east he will say NO. I think Suns will buy him out and be done with it

I’d rather waive him than stretch him. Stretching him would be catastrophic. We’d be paying non-players $25m a year thru 2030 (Naz Little).

Buying out a guy still owed over $100M would be unprecedented. I'd be shocked if the Suns actually waived Beal before next offseason.

I don't see any team taking Beal and just getting #10, they'd have to be sending back bad salary and be in a position to eat that salary and not care about winning for 2 years.
Maybe Philly would consider Beal +10 for Paul George, maybe. To get off the deal a year early. But Philly may not even be interested, bc Paul George is still better on the court than Brad Beal right now.
Edit: Actually, 3yrs more yrs of Paul George is probably worse than two more of Bradley Beal right now. So yea, maybe Philly would take him for Paul George. Otherwise, I can't think of a good deal that is realistic
Philly might but still tough because that unbalances the 76ers. I don't see Beal waiving his No Trade Clause.

How is it bad though?
If they waive him or keep him then Suns will pay $110m tax in 25-26 and $105m tax in 26-27. That's only if they add their draft picks and vet mins. So $215m in tax total next 2 seasons.
If the stretch waive him then Suns pay no tax in 25-26 while adding an MLE FA along with their draft picks. They effectively replace Beal with an FA or 2 FA using the MLE and drop out of the tax. In 26-27 they'd also be able to stay out of the tax. So $0 in tax next 2 seasons.

Re: What happens to Beal?
Only team that may give value is the Nets.
I could see a Claxton+26+36 for Beal+10 trade happening. Nets still have a ton of capspace and they get pick 10. Suns drop out of the tax, get a starting C and load up on youth in the draft (26, 29, 36, 52, 59).

Yes with a five year stretch and with other moves probably duck the tax too. BUT
I also saw something that if he gave up essentially the MLE over two years (+/-$30M) they can stretch him at like $45M per for 2 years. It’s a **** show

It’s funny. If the Suns want to bet on upside they need to stay at 10 and draft a guy like Noa Essengue. If they aren’t in that market this trade makes a ton of sense because there are NBA roll players late in this draft.

The reduction in Tax and getting under the apron would be the only justification for the Stretch waive. What I hate is the $22 million of dead money you can't get out of.
Let's say the Suns could trade Booker for a haul maybe to Brooklyn and get some or most of their picks back. Take back less salary, drop as much salary as possible. They're gonna stink in 2025-26. You keep Beal as your tank commander. In 2026-27 he will only have one year maybe then he will waive the NTC. Trading him is much easier with one year on his deal than 2. You might have to take some bad salary but might get a pick in the process.

Is Beal approving going to BKN though?
Without any new reporting on it, my opinion is Beal would only think about either MIA or going back to DC.
Not gonna lie, I’m rooting for the Josh Smith special. 22M dead money annually for the next five years.

Re: What happens to Beal?
I kind of like the Portland idea - and I don’t think Pheonix needs to include a pick. Grant and Willams are better fitting rotation pieces in PHX.
It becomes a math trade in a lot of ways - Pheonix shaves $8.3mm off their 25-26 payroll as they move towards dropping below the 2nd apron. Portland saves a little over 5.1mm with the combined remaining salary of Williams/Grant and get the money off the books a year earlier.
This deal only gets done if Beal agrees to a buyout as a contingency of the trade.

Ishbia isn’t a nepo baby. He actually built his company basically from scratch. Took over his father’s small mortgage shop and turned it into a Fortune 500 behemoth. He has been a terrible basketball guy but he at least earned the right to **** this up.

Re: What happens to Beal?
Given that AZ has a pretty low income tax rate (2.5%), I don’t think Beal will waive his NTC unless he is going to a no income tax state so he can keep more of his money. The only realistic team that is 0% tax rate AND has the contracts to trade would be the Heat.
I could see something like Wiggins, DRob, #20 for Beal, #10, plus seconds from the KD trade.
