What a trade to get their pick back... major L from us lmao... this team loves to trade picks for nothing. This is going to be a top 8 pick next year.

But we got Ingram so it's alright lmao...

Even with the injury to Haliburton they're likely a play-in level team at worst.

Nembhard will be a solid starter for them in the regular season while Hali is out.

Ya I guess we should have used the same crystal ball the Pacers had... Hindsight isn't a basis for an argument. Not to mention, it's a little early to assume the Pacers won't be competitive next season.

The Pacers were trash earlier this season while Hali was recovering from injury. If I'm betting money, I'd bet on them missing the playoffs next year.

GM knew with history of calf injuries of what it could turn into, so the moment they had the opportunity to get their pick back they did it. The deal was probably on the table for a while and after Game 5 they did it before Pelicans figured it out.

This has shades of the Durant injury in the 2019 playoffs. I would not be surprised in both cases, if the players had partial tears, and it was just a matter of time before a full tear.

I would imagine Pacers GM made that deal with the knowledge that Hali’s Achilles was going to go at some point.

There's got to be some push back from players now on this. Both Dame and JT said their calves were hurting prior to tearing their Achilles, but they still played. I know its the their choice but I'd like to know if the full tears could have been prevented? Last week, the first thing that came to my mind in hearing about this trade was WTF are the Pacers making a trade in the middle of their Finals? Anyways, yeah Indy likely still be good but even if they are play-in territory, they'd still have that slim chance to get into the top 4 like teams have in the past couple of years. Or get a nice piece with a late lottery pick.

DM me the winning lotto numbers since you know what to expect in the future, I’ll split it 50/50, if not you’re wasting your ”genius” Nostradamus.

Trash is a bit of an exaggeration, especially when he only missed 9 games and they went 4-5... Pretty small sample size, and we don't know if Pacers will make a move to fill the void, but let's not let those things stand in the way from people being dramatic on here.

When Durant was injured, I remember reading that it is easier to surgically repair a full tear, over a partial tear. So it was in the players and teams interest to have them continue until it fully tears.

Problem is insurance. These players salaries are insured, and I would bet the insurance wouldn’t cover their losses, if it is known they played through a partial tear of their Achilles, and hence the reason for all the silence and references to calf injuries.

Done even though I’m not feeling the Diddy vibe you’re on lol

Now what does your crystal ball say is the next move the Raptors should or shouldn’t do that you will be upset about when it happens??

We all need to be outraged like you by the apparently predictable future.

No problem buddy, here's 1 more for just you!

- Maluach is the biggest bust in the draft

This wasn't a bad prediction from back in 2021 wasn't it? Its a message board were allowed to criticize the team and their moves.

Let me know when you want those lotto numbers crodie.

Not sure why you bumped an old incorrect prediction of yours  Cade is still the best player from his class.

But yes I’m still waiting on those lotto numbers and I have no issues with criticizing the FO (I’ve done it plenty lol) but getting mad at them about something unforseeable like an Achilles injury to the team’s best player that you traded with is just flat out ridiculous no matter how you wanna twist it…crodie lol

You know that our FO traded Siakam basically for the 19th and 29th Pick in 2024.

And again, Ingram didn't even played one single game so far for us. So let's wait and stop talking about this was a win/win trade. So far he hasn't done anything. And Ingram value compared to Siakam (both were expiring) is much lower than Siakam. Ingram hasn't achieved anything so far in his career. Crazy how some people overrate Ingram.

Sure.

But Walter / Ochai / Ingram is still a vastly superior package to what the pelicans got. The point stands.

Let's not forget what we give up for Poeltl if you are looking at the overall picture.
Picking on just a single player in return on multiple trades to me does not really prove anything.

What?

The whole thing I just posted was this board would have lost it's mind if we traded Ingram for a lone / late 1st. Now we're inexplicably bringing Poeltl into the conversation?
