Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
Is it worth asking if we could get 11 plus a tiny asset for the ‘31 1st and a swap, or is it not worth lighting the beacon?

I’m just saying it could be an option.. a good one? Hmmm.
I don’t think Demar is a top-100 player, let alone top-30. He presents the opposite of a lot of things that we saw work late last season.
Solid point. Top 100 is pretty disrespectful but I’m not mad about it. I just thought it was worth part of the discussion.

Oh, I greatly appreciate more names being added to the conversation around here. I’m just going to strongly push back on Demar, specifically.
We don’t have any wing creators, so I understand where Demar would theoretically be attractive, but things have to be run through him to give him any value, and considering his below league average efficiency, slow pace, weak defense, and Sacramento taking a significant step back once they acquired him, I just don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze.

And I'd still trade him in a heartbeat for Kuzma and 2 2nds. This season he helps take some scoring pressure off Giannis and next year he's a 25M expiring contract. We shouldn't be trying to build a championship team this season, just get Giannis a little help and keep the 31 pick while Doc proofing the roster.
I posted it earlier but if we just resigned Bobby, KPJ and GTJ then traded Pat for Hauser and Kuzma for DD we're looking at a pretty good shot at 5-6th seed minus a Giannis injury. And then we have 31 and 32 pick next year and Dame and DD on expiring contracts.

Stop gap for a year wouldn’t be the end of the world would it?

He's got two years left. If it's just DeRozan for Kuzma, sure.

I think it’d be a relatively easy expiring to dump after the year if things aren’t good. I’m looking at it for 1yr and a way to dump Kuzma. I wouldn’t offer anything more than a swap, Kuzmas descending contract would save Sacramento 1m this year and 5m next. If that’s not enough incentive then so be it, move on.

Is it realistic to squezze both Porter and Trent into the MLE? Something like 4/30 each?

I don't think anyone has any grasp on what realistic is for any of our guys. KPJ could be some BAE outcast because he got charged for beating up his girlfriend and played like ass the first half of the season or he could be someones full MLE lottery ticket. GTJ could get the money he left of the table in Toronto or he could be begging for TPMLE deals with a heavy wing free agent class. Bobby could go anywhere from opting into his player option to damn near 100 million. Brook might be a minimumish level ring chaser or an MLE starting center. It will be interesting.

What team can pay Bobby $100M besides the Nets? No one besides the Nets and maybe Pistons can’t go above the MLE for any free agents.

I’d gladly accept that. Then use the BAE on a rotational big, offer Bobby an extension if he opts in, reup Rollins and Sims, give Kennard a min salary deal, and trade Kuzma/Pat for MPJ.

100 mill was a bit of an exaggeration but Gafford just went for $20 million a year, I could see Bobby pulling something similar, granted I'd be surprised to see too long of a deal at his age. Both those teams you listed I wouldn't be surprised to see an offer for Bobby thrown out as a veteran to help a young team and force the Bucks to make a decision. Also Bobby could just throw down an ultimatum and say finally pay me after all the team friendly deals he signed. He's basically said as much in that recent interview that he's done being the team guy and he wants to get paid what his peers are (specifically pointing out a 3/4 year deal) with this offseason being about Bobby Portis and not the Bucks and I doubt he's going to looking what guys like Gafford got or what someone like Naz Reid will get and be too happy if the Bucks just throw him some change over the MLE that most teams could give.
But on the other end as you state, the market isn't exactly brimming with opportunity and I could totally see the money just not being there. Again, I think all our free agents are such question marks right now and we just have to wait and see.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
1) Given that I'd trade Kuzma for Semi Ojeleye, I certainly would trade him for Derozan (One of Dame's best friends).
2) I'd take Kennard on a minimum, but not before Trent. Kennard can't play defense.
3) I'd get Kevon Looney as a switchable big. Can get him cheap.High bbiq.
4) Still would like a switchable wing, who can shoot, but so would everyone else.
5) Out of the box move- do what you have to to get Knuppel.

Would any combination of Dame + picks / players be able to net us Jaylen Brown?

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
I think I remember saying months ago that we should be earmarking at least a 4-yr $64 million extension for Bobby and that's actually right where Hollinger pegged his price range ($15 million per year) in the latest FA breakdown. I think a lot of people still aren't understanding how expensive/unrealistic it's gonna be to keep the guys we all wanna keep. I'd be stunned if Trent gave only accepted a discount 8-10 mil per, and $20 million+ per year for Bobby wouldn't shock me.
