Not buying the Kuminga interest. If they really wanted him that seems like a move that could have been made at the deadline.

No, Kuminga was injured Jan 5th, came back March 10th.

Kuminga wants to be a #1, at this point in his career he's not bending, he put up 17.9 FGA per36, that's the same rate as KD which was good for 25th highest in the NBA. He routinely ignored Curry on the court but the guy is talented, should be a 20ppg scorer but a coach is going to have to figure out how to use such a black hole on offense. Adding Kuminga would definitely push Bam to the 3rd option which might be the best spot for him.

He wants to play how he wants to play; a.. sorry, the scorer, he's been in the NBA 4 years and still hasn't changed his style, so whoever trades for him has to understand he's probably not going to change, there's a good chance when the ball hits his hands, unless it was drawn up for him to pass, he may be calling his own number, it's just the way he wants to play vs fitting in on a team.

If you pay him, you better be sure that he will be able to play to a borderline allstar level. Once you pay these dudes they are never assets you stuck with him. Utah been trying to trade John Collins and Sextons for ages and there havet been any takers. Now that they are expirings there is interest. Same with Rui, Lakers fan peddle him in trade proposal but no one want him on that money.

Only way you sign him is if you believe he can go up 2 or 3 levels from what he's shown in GSW. And most here don't. This would be another contract in a few years we gotta attach a pick to get rid off. With the 2nd apron, you need to get value for your contracts especially for role players

I don't trust GSW as an organization, and if they don't believe in him after having him for a while why should we

I knew Utah would be all over this especially after young Ainge made his way over there.

Just a far better tan organization that isn’t too delusional about their players tbh.

Couldn't agree more. Hes basically a Jalen Green. PHX wasn't super horny for him. But they wanted the #10 pick and they took a chance, an expensive lottery ticket.
Given what Bill said and others in Miami saying deal was close, I still think PHX would've preferred Wiggins #20 Haywood and our young players, than having to take on Brooks and Jalen salary. Because they know there's a chance they'll be stuck with those deals until they're off the books. Wiggins at least you know someone would give you a protected future first or another decent player and some 2nds in return. I dont think you can say the same for Jalen Green. I know some of you here like him but, thats not the consensus around the nba, especially when youre making 33-35M per and haven't really done anything.

Edit: Not to say Kuminga cant or wont be good. But hes basically also an expensive lottery ticket. Rockets actually gave Jalen some burn. Warriors mothballed Kuminga so hard to really know what you got there.

I guess this has to at least be Sexton, Collins, and #5. Utah is not a FA destination and this would be adding a really good player on a long-term deal who seems to be an awesome guy off the court.

Kessler / Filipowski
Markannen / Hendricks
Sensabaugh / Juzang
Brown / Clarkson
Collier / George

I mentioned in another thread why, vs putting it in that thread and bringing it back to the top.

BTW... GS can only take back 1/2 Kuminga's S&T salary of his first year and they can't include any other players with Kuminga.

Like I mentioned before I left, this is one of the better team boards on RealGM.

When they have a better team and better players. Celtics if they kept it together are a 2nd round team. JB is for sure better than Bam, you can argue about by how much. And as much as I hate to admit, White is probably better than Herro.

If they get that Spurs no 2 pick for JB + other assets I will be so pissed. That' would be the dream package for Bam if we were to blow it up

We’re used to getting outclassed by other organizations by now.

Celtics have a front office that knows when it is time to blow it up..

Even if Tatum was not injured id imagine theyd be making the same moves. Theyve been running the same players for years, they know it is time to rebrand especially now with tatum out.

And i bet they make the playoffs or the play in even with some of their core players gone.

So wait is it true the Wizards will have almost 100 mil in cap space in 2026 to go with their young core?

Maybe it’s because I’m older and have seen this movie play out before, but this feels like deja vu of the 01-02 season, so I know what Riley’s mindset probably is. That year Zo was coming back from his kidney (not 100%) and he was eager to prove the pieces he acquired the previous year could work. He wasn’t comfortable going all in though, so he acquired a bunch of vets on short term deals (Rod Strickland, Kendal Gill, LaPhonso Ellis etc). It didn’t work, next year we finally accepted tanking, and we got Wade.

I’m expecting something similar here, we won’t blow it up but it’ll be a soft compete, looking for cheap reliable vets to see what we really have. When (not if) we prove we suck this season, next year will be the tank.

The Celtics front office has most likely been given a mandate to drastically reduce the tax bill. Stevens isn't just blowing up that awesome core because he is executing some mad genius team-building strategy.

Now with that said, he's done a fair job finding adequate returns for these massive contracts.
