There is possibly some merit to the idea you propose, but IMO it probably works with 1 or 2 players out of 10. Most players do best when given some rope and learning to play through their mistakes.

I’m not a fan of Finch’s offense or the teams lack of urgency… Howevery I think he has developed Ant, Jaden, Naz, NAW, and Vanderbilt while coaching the wolves.

I remember Trae Young was struggling mightily in his first seasons in NBA. Then he added range to his 3PT shot and started to use floaters. He also learned how to bait for fouls. I wonder if Rob is similar type of scorer. As passer Young has an edge.

Looking at his statistics, it doesn't look like Young ever struggled that much (although he took a sizeable leap from year 1 to 2). The big question I have for Rob is whether he's going to get the opportunity to get comfortable. Are we going to have the luxury of letting him play through his mistakes?

I have never been a big fan of fixing jumpshot during regular season, but it explains why Rob struggled with his 3PT shots later in the season. Meanwhile I feel like he was adjusting to NBA because he looked good finishing at rim, while giving high effort in defense.

Still have very high hopes for Rob. Part of why I've backed down on wanting to draft a PG at 17. I think he'd be in top 5 discussion for this draft as a prospect. Like him more than anyone outside of Flagg and Harper honestly.

As a prospect and in terms of basketball ability, absolutely.

I do think there's validity to fears of him being too small as teams keep getting bigger. However, I like his competitiveness. Watching back his season highlights, I had forgotten how much he was getting by good to great NBA defenders and getting his shot off. Needs to work on accuracy and consistency, but that's part of regular development..

Top end talent maybe, and it's shallow since about 10 guys went back to school for NIL money. But I think it has a lot of valuable guys jammed into the late lotto up until nearly pick 40. Guys who may never be a star, but could make 1 or 2 allstars, or just be long time starters/productive bench guys.

I really think that Beringer can help Rob to unlock his pnr game in NBA: Garza is not really a dynamic pick-and-roll bigman nor effective pick-and-pop option (27% from 3PT). Rob played well with Jessie Edwards who has similar to Beringer dimensions, but Beringer has much more dynamic in his game.
