Cap space is still important. It allows you to bail out teams for assets and get good players they need to dump in return.

Pg: Mitchell / Vincent / Smith
Sg: Herro / Highsmith / Larrson
Sf: Jovic / Jacquez / Burks
Pf: Bam / Hachimura / Anderson
Cc: Ware
I would like to think we could find a way to get another scorer in there at small forward and have Jovic coming off the bench
Highsmith goes out and Knecht is the backup two guard. Larrson becomes the swing defensive wing.

They have no assets. They have expiring deals, sure, not he's worth more than Gabe and Rui. Unless they're tossing in Knecht, I don't see it.
If it happens, then more likely the Wiggins market is cooked. He wasn't good his last year in GSW and was poor with the Heat. There may not be any takers for his contract
I would prefer a deal where at least we get 3 0r 4 2nd picks if we can't get a 1st. But if that's all that's there, I'll do it. I think he opts in next year so I would like to get his number off the books

I see no reason to include Highsmith. I think that's additional value we shouldn't be adding.

Highsmith as your backup 2 guard is roster malpractice. I would rather have the shooting and scoring upside of Knecht. For salary matching in order to get Knecht you need Highsmith or Love salary included. I assume Lakers also toss in a 2nd

They might toss in an Olive Garden gift card as a favor.

So let them have Love. With Rui and Anderson we don't need him. But Highsmith actually had value and I'm not sacrificing that. Highsmith can play small forward, too. Use him there.

We were promised by Riley a different roster for next season. Not "run it back" anymore. It means we need to see some changes

Love does make sense for them as he was recently spotted training with Lebron and trainer boasting about those two together

I’d prolly rather have DeRozan for CHEAP than pay the Sun’s price for KD. Depends on what you gotta give up for DeRozan.
The lack of 3 point shooting is a real bummer tho.

We should just start expecting the opposite at this point. If they say Clayton is a sure thing to come to Miami just think he’s not……

Lakers don’t have a tradeable 1st till 2031. Only 1 2nd round pick and that’s 55

Re: 2025 Offseason Season Thread Vol. 3
So what about a three team deal with Sacramento and LA where we send it Wiggins, Rozier and 20 and get DeRozan and Monk, LA get Wiggins, and the Kings get Rozier, Knecht, Rui, Vincent, and our first?
Anytime think that could work? I don't want DeRozan but I do get the vision at least.
Pg: Herro / Mitchell
Sg: Monk / Larsson / Burks
Sf: DeRozan / Jacquez / Highsmith
Pf: Adebayo / Jovic / Anderson
Cc: Ware
