if we do trade up tomorrow, i would love it if we didn't draft another 18/19 year old. A guy who can get on the court as soon as possible would be great.

Just did my two minutes of research. Sign me up for Rasheer Fleming if there is any way we can get an earlier pick.

I feel like Thiero is clearly the best prospect on the board if his knee checks out. The only bad shooter I'd endorse trading up for.

So Blazers give up an expiring positive asset and two seconds for an awful contract and the guy doesn’t even want to play for them, then they trade Coward (the guy shooting up the draft board) for Yi Part Two/a Magic 1st that will be in the late tens or twenties when it conveys/2 seconds?

I’m quite glad that’s the team that hold future swaps of the Bucks picks after Giannis current deal is up.

Even if Giannis left, those swaps might not convey because of what the Blazers are doing and they are doing it in the West.

Haven't really looked at a ton draft position wise before tonight was done. Just checking out some "best available lists".

Thiero got some 2nd round level OG vibes, Fleming is interesting but nothing really stands out, the big ole ivory guys Raynaud and Kalkbrenner seem like pretty typical big ole ivory guys, Zikarsky seems hilarious, maybe its a familiarity thing but Kam Jones would be cool, similarly but less so with Tonje, liked Sallis a lot more last season but I think he's got some Ayo in him that could stick as a good second rounder, not the biggest Dixon/Broome great college players translating fan, Nembhard and Sears look like fun G-League point guards, Javon Small is also small, Brea and Amari Williams seem like cool 2 way type guys (even if you have to draft them to do so), wasn't impressed with any of the Duke dudes when I watched for Flagg, a guy named Dink has to have a chip on his shoulder.

Thiero is nice. Can't really shoot yet, but the type of super switchy wing we could definitely use. His finishing is reminiscent of Giannis.

I wonder how how close the first round matched up to Lil Cleo's rankings.

He’s who I would trade up for at this point. I thought Andre was a top flight athlete, but I think Adou is even better - just a preposterously powerful dude.

His shot doesn’t look broken to me. If he can develop that, there’s a pretty incredible player there.

Tyrese Proctor is another intriguing player, very similar to Andrew Nembhard. Fleming or Proctor if we can move up, and Peavey if we stay at 47. I'm also fine with trading 47 for future draft currency.

This is who Horst will probably want, given his openness about getting more athletic. Unfortunately, we have seen his track record in drafting/trading for athletes.

I want a skilled player who can contribute right away. Can he hit on the next Giannis? Improbable.

Based on reading Vecenie's content, Penda is the best available and he sounds interesting but having never seen him play it's tough to judge. Anyone have any insight on him?

They really have to milk the 2nd round into a 2nd day?

NBA Comparison: Herb Jones, Kenrich Williams
At his peak, Penda’s special off-ball defense could somewhat resemble an all-league caliber defender like Herb Jones, who has made enough offensive strides throughout his career. If he can’t reach those heights, Penda’s feel for the game and skill should help him stick around as a two-way utility wing like Williams.

Strengths
Brilliant off-ball defender with next-level feel for rotations, awareness and anticipation
Has the instincts and physical tools to protect the rim from the perimeter, covers tons of ground
Quick ball mover with high processing speed and great decision-making with the ball
Bursty enough to get downhill against tilted defenses/in transition
Weaknesses
Weak ballhandling/stiiffness limits his half-court advantage creation and driving ability
Limited, average-volume 3-point shooter who defenses often sag off of, lacks great touch
Can misplace feet and overextend at fakes when defending the ball and gamble for off-ball steals
Offensive role: Secondary Playmaker/Off-Ball Cutter

Defensive role: Off-Ball Playmaker/Helper

2025 NBA Draft Projection: Round 1, Pick 18-25
Penda find a consistent scoring avenue to maximize his other strengths, but those positives are worth investing in. There aren’t many players in the class with a higher defensive ceiling than Penda. That defense combined with his passing potential make for an intriguing mid-to-late first-round upside swing.
