Tim Connelly is a free agent this offseason (if not, he has an option to pick up his contract or leave), for what it's worth.

You're right I just read this and he should have an opt-out now...but there's been no talk about it and Connelly was recently complaining about the 2nd round process stinks now - seems to still be focused on the Minny team.

Bob Myers? Sam Presti? Tim Connely?

I'd love to see Tim Leiweke back to help with the search.

So MAGA Ed gives Masai the boot, but still providing carte blanche to Shatkins

What an absolute disaster. Winning is not a priority with Ed the snake Rogers

You need to have someone in place. Bobby is the GM in title the way Anthopoulis was for a time after Shapiro was hired. But the new team president will hire his own guy, whether internal or not.

theyre talking about extending him..that doesnt mean they just want to keep someone around

They’ll eat the cost of his salary a year from now if the new prez wants to bring in someone else. An extension for him will not be a hurdle.

I have questions about Myers too. He gets a lot of credit but he wasn’t the GM when Curry or Klay were drafted. Remove Curry from the equation and we view GSW in an entirely different light. I’d also imagine he’d be very expensive and I doubt Rogers is going to shell out a bunch of money.

My guess is since CAA is in charge of the search we’re going to get some former agent and the majority of the time that doesn’t work out.

Seems like Rogers is recuperating costs with buying out Bell from MLSE. You are now seeing the results, no president on any team.

We're not hiring another president. Leafs, TFC, and now the Raptors don't have one.

Ed Rogers grand idea is to give his yes man Pelly, the final say on everything

I don't disagree, but when you have a franchise worth 4.5B, you should probably invest quite a bit in your top basketball guy.

and how much has Masai done to help raise the value of our franchise since being here? He’s earned every dollar he’s made

Masai increased the value of this franchise by literally billions of dollars. As a straight up businessman - apart from his basketball success - he scores A+++

It sounds like it's just Masai that's out, Webster and Co are staying

Shams says they are looking for new president, and MLSE announced they have hired CAA to look for new president.

Pretty sure it will be a pale reminder of the worst of times

Idk, at least fans could afford to go watch NBA basketball back then. Now it will be luxury-pricing matched with mediocre on-court production.

Have zero trust in Ed Rogers.

Long over due is pretty crazy lmao they won a championship in 2019 and made the 2nd round game 7 in 2020. Even 2022 was seen as mostly successful. The only year he held on too long was 2023. Then he tore it down the year after and we've been rebuilding since.

He should've started the rebuild in 2021 right after they drafted Barnes, and not hang onto Siakam, FVV etc. The Norm trade was the beginning, trading down for Thad, Flynn, the disagreements with NN, 6'9 vision, poeltl trade because the lack of Center, bit he had a chance of picking Kessler but he traded down for Thad and went for his African fellow Koloko, keeping Siakam, OG and FVV until they're value was at the lowest... 48W season was a fluke and not a success. This team had no joy or vision everybody saw it, they literally had to squeeze out a w in every game and played a 7/8 man rotation. He **** up big time during the last 4 years. One bad decision followed the next. Masai just did a bad job, and it's OK to admit that. He had good run. And I'm pretty sure he will be successful somewhere else too, where he has a fresh start.

In '20 they had the second best record in the NBA. Kinda hard to tear down that team especially since our core was stepping into more prominent roles after Kawhi departed. Easy to say stuff like this in hindsight.

My iconic poster I have up from the championship is the picture of Lowry and Masai hugging. Don’t have a single poster of Kawhi hanging on my walls
