yeah, he was maybe the only big expiring that could have potentially been available in an RJ deal. Does Ayton have to clear waivers before being offered a contract? I guess he goes to the Lakers. If not, maybe Giannis could convince him to join the Bucks?

I assumed a full expiring for RJ just wasn't on the table. They already sent a big one back for Jrue. There likely just is no team that wants to take all his money for next year. They still have Timelord/Thybulle as smaller matching expirings to play with if they need to make moves.

weirdly enough yeah, despite Ayton being a more conventional C, Simmons gives you more defensively and as a playmaker than what Ayton does. Kind of crazy how disappointing both have been as former #1 picks.
