All that for what? It's still team without any perimeter talent and Lopez for Turner isn't that much of an upgrade overall.

You really hope for anything but first round exit with your starters being Kevin Porter, Gary Trent and Prince?

Delusion of that team took another level. But makes sense raelly. People who thought Kuzma is good player did this ...

I feel sorry for Bucks fans, that team can't even start rebuild until 2031. And Giannis will still leave eventually.

What are some good adjectives to describe someone believing Lillard would decline his massive player option out of the goodness of his heart?

Naive? Disillusioned?

Best case: one year suffer.
Worst case: 2 yeears suffer.

How to kill decade: stretch him for 5 years, use money to sign archetype of player you had last year ( and year prior) where you lost in first round. Have no pick and still have delusional faith that Giannis + G league roster will carry you anywhere.

Bucks have no objective path toward compeating for title. They just continue to dig themself deeper into hole.

This whole thing with Indy being scared of the tax..... Can't they apply for cap relief for this season on Hali??

Comparing Lopez with Turner at this point is highly disingenuous. The numbers defensively and offensively are on totally different levels

I think he would be a PERFECT fit with Giannis and Porter, they could cover his poor rebounding while he stretches the floor with his outside shot. In Indiana he was underwhelming because we don't have strong rebounders and he was expected to be that.
Sad to see Myles go to a division rival, but not gonna **** on him after so many years with the franchise. Best of luck against anyone not Indiana.

P.S.
We have the poorest owner in the league I think. Myles wasn't overpaid and he still didn't re-sign him, in spite of being part of a Finals team.

Malls aren't the draw they used to be and your rookie max player is dead money. Probably better to lose Myles and re-tool for a year. Indiana now can use this year to see what all the young dudes can do around Siakam and McConnell. I like that better than pretending next year is some fake contending year without Haliburton.

No.

Pacers chose not to pay the tax.

It’s on them. Pay for the winner you built. This is not a 2nd apron hard cap casualty.

Delusional, they're not paying the tax because they don't want to deal with future penalties. The new CBA doesn't let you keep paying guys in a throw away year when you have to deal with injuries. In the current CBA KG Celtics would have been broken up after his injury, Rose Bulls, etc

Bro, the Pacers have NEVER paid the tax. This isn't the hill to die on.

With the Pacers losing Turner, I think there is a pretty significant case to sell high on Siakam for some young guys and picks and be a bottom 5 team next season. Come back in 2026 with a ton of cap space, Haliburton, and some young players who got to really develop. Get to see what Mathurian can do as the man for a season. Siakam is kind of older than most of this core anyways.

I'd bet Siakam could bring back 3 or 4 firsts from someone plus a nice young player or two.

The most a designated player exception will give a team is like 14 million for a salary that big and I believe if you use it, it still counts against the cap, so usually it never gets used.

I said same archetype, didn't compare them. But they do same stuff. Turner is younger and better today. But Lopez had great playoffs last year and Bucks still lost in first round. Ditto to year prior ( when you guys even had Jrue and Middelton ).

Turner is very good player ( literally wrote this earlier today on GB )- but in context of Bucks, he simply can't move the needle to make difference that is required to uplift Bucks team due how much of a mess rest of Bucks roster is.

I wish Bucks and every other team best, it's just my personal opinion that all those moves are just prolonging inevitable rebuild.

No, they cut him a square. No pressure to recover and can go where he wants when done rehabning, wherever that may be.

Turner fell off and doesn’t move the needle one bit. This shouldn’t do anything for Giannis.

Turner sucked in the finals. Can’t shoot, rebound, or play d.

$25m per year? Good signing. Really like it for them.

I have no doubt the Pacers would have paid the tax if Hali does not get hurt, it was a no brainer. I kinda thought they would anyway, but I totally understand.

Hali is certainly out for next season and realistically won't be 100% for months after he does come back in 2026-27. A lot of money to be spending on a declining Turner just waiting on Hali.

In the long run making sure we can re-sign Mathurin could be the smart move. Use this season to develop Math, Walker, even Furphy. See what we need for Hali's return.

Not sure if DominAyton is in the picture or not. Not sure how I feel about him. Part of me wants no part of him, the other part says, we can fix him. LoL.

If things start off really bad, we could do a Dubs, tank for a season thing. Getting our pick back looks even better now, the Pels really messed that one up.

And let's not forget. We have newly drafted #54 pick, Peter the Great, 6'4" Shooting and dunking legend from Liberty college.

Anything that weakens the Pacers, I'm cool with. Man got absolutely paid by a division rival.

For most of teams Turner is a good center, but for bucks is the only ideal center. Fits Perfect to Giannis and does most of things younger brook lopez was doing. If bucks could choose a center from whole nba who they want, they would choose Turner. Also think of Defence with Kevin PorterJunor, Green, (a 3and d player, hope not kuzma)Giannis and Turner. Top 5 for sure. And sometimes, just sometimes , Defence wins championships. Also to trade Giannis for what. We dont have any draft picks to win from tanking next years. Signign Turner was best move, in a year east will be weak.

Who do you dump Toppin to? There aren't any teams really working with cap space to dump to

Lopez though clearly showed his age last year though. I mean, he was basically unplayable this last series. Pacers ran circles around him and he couldn’t keep up. His role now as a backup will probably fit him better, keep him fresher, but we clearly needed to move on from him.
