Giannis Antetokounmpo To Evaluate Bucks' Championship Potential At End Of Offseason

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jul 2, 2025 1:49 am

The Milwaukee Bucks made a surprising move on Tuesday in signing Myles Turner while also cutting ties with Damian Lillard. Giannis Antetokounmpo took notice of the transaction as he continues to evaluate his status with the Bucks. Antetokounmpo plans to continue to evaluating any additional moves the team makes. The Bucks could still trade a future first-round pick in either 2031 or 2032 as they search for a new point guard.

"I'm told Giannis Antetokounmpo will continue to evaluate everything—the entire offseason," said Shams Charania on Tuesday's NBA Today Free Agency Special. "He took notice of this move today, no doubt, but sources tell me he will evaluate more than just one day. At the end of the offseason, Giannis Antetokounmpo will ask himself—he'll look in the mirror and look around him and ask the question: 'Can I win a second championship with this team as currently constructed?'

"And the answer to that question faces and looms Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks, and Milwaukee."

Antetokounmpo, who had another top-3 MVP finish in 2024-25, has two additional seasons remaining on his contract.

This is the best move that the Bucks could have pulled off, and that says a lot. They have no other better assets for immediate improvement. Unless Giannis is staying for "loyalty", knowing full well they aren't competing and would be worse than last year before Lillard's injury, he is leaving.

If you’ve ever seen his wife you would know this is far from truth. She’s not the typical athlete wife

Whats kind of wild is that Giannis and his wife kind of look like they could be brother and sister . They have similar facial features.

Giannis is a selfish POS. He's basically expecting the team to go all in to build around him when he's not even telling them if he's going to be there. Plus he can't hit free throws. I do not want this clown on the Knicks. Decisions like this should be made before the team does it's free agency.

It’s called being loyal… he really wants to stay in Milwaukee but also knows his time is limited and wants to win again. Also nobody wants to play for the Knicks, or anywhere in New York

It doesn't seem very loyal to expect a team to build around you, without a commitment to the team. Imagine if they go out and get all these pieces and then he's like "nah," and they have to blow up the team they just built, despite specifically recruiting people to play with Giannis for a title.

Everybody wants to play for the Knicks. It's the world's most famous arena... but I'm hoping Giannis does not.

Shams just needs to STFU about Giannis. He doesn't know ANYTHING. Giannis is CAREFULLY. MONITORING TO HE 47TH.L. PICK. STFU. Ain't nobody clocked on that pick unless it's LeBron and his kid. Bucks should sue. It's out of control.
