They should’ve used CP3 & Klay’s salaries to match for Siakam, Lavine, & Caruso a year and a half ago. Between their kids & picks, they could’ve brought in both & probably still kept Podz to come off the bench with Caruso.

Just saw that they may sign Horford! What's the highest average age for a team? They should go for the record. See if Lebron and Chris Paul will come on over.

Probably the 98 Bulls, lol.

Got curious, asked the question:

Chat GPT wrote:The oldest average age team in NBA history is generally considered to be the:

1997–98 Houston Rockets
• Average Age: Around 32 years old
• Key Veterans:
• Hakeem Olajuwon – 35
• Clyde Drexler – 35
• Charles Barkley – 34
• Kevin Willis – 35
• Mario Elie – 34
• Eddie Johnson – 38

They assembled a roster of experienced veterans in a “win-now” push, hoping the trio of Olajuwon, Barkley, and Drexler could capture another title. However, they lost in the Western Conference Finals to the Utah Jazz.

Other notably old teams:
• 2012–13 Los Angeles Lakers (average age ~30)
• Steve Nash (38), Kobe Bryant (34), Pau Gasol (32), Metta World Peace (33)
• 2003–04 Portland Trail Blazers (nicknamed “Jail Blazers”)
• 2021–22 Los Angeles Lakers also came close, averaging around 30.0 years, with LeBron, Carmelo, Dwight Howard, and others.

But the 1997–98 Rockets remain the oldest on record by average age.

#1 target: Marcus Smart + Kelly Olynyk. Smart's health is a gamble but if he held up it would do wonders for the Warriors' depth. Might be able to get Washington to throw in a couple of the less valuable among their many future picks.

#2 target: Miles Bridges. His contract is fair and GSW might be able to get this swap done without any further assets. He'd fit nicely into a Curry/Podz/Bridges/Butler/Draymond lineup. I do wonder if the stink of Bridges' domestic violence offense has dissipated enough for an image conscious franchise like the Warriors to add him.

Pie-in-the-sky target: Lauri Markkanen. Ainge would have to agree to take Kuminga at a high enough salary to make it work (or throw in Hield or Moody to cover the difference) and would doubtlessly make the Warriors throw in picks. It would raise the stakes should they fail in terms of rebuilding plus Lauri's contract is quite a load but it would also be a potential game changer for them like no other.

Nice find!

But again, speaking to the point I made, with what resources? They don't have anyone worth what they need in return and they have like $140M tied up in three players.

It's not that I couldn't see WHAT the roster needs, it's that I don't see HOW they can go out and actually acquire anything with their available resources ;)

Kuminga extended and traded at the deadline is the best bet.

Yeah, but he's been pretty crap, so I can't imagine he brings back a lot in any trade.

Very nice. A lot of players never make it to 32 in the league, so to average 32 is pretty amazing. Going to see if I can find some hightlights of that team now.

I think they’re supposed to get Al Horford.
