it's always nice to add young talent but there's not going to be many more minutes for him, at least in the first half of the season, with the Wizards than there was with the Rockets. Wizards have a roster crunch. There's a few veterans that need to be showcased for trades (Middleton, Smart, Kispert) so they'll be getting first half minutes and then there's equally if not more talented young players like Coulibaly, Johnson, Riley, George, and Jones to contend with all season. Perhaps there's another move or two before camp. It'll be a delicate balancing act for them since they need to tank in order to keep their pick which is protected 1-8.

He’s a future 25 ppg scorer. He’s better than Jalen Green, but he never got a fair shot. Udoka hates him.

So now he can continue to be over hyped when he averages over 20 ppg on a team that wins 20 games now....

Shams tweet says the Rockets worked with his reps to find a new home tho. That would suggest this was the best deal they could find. Perhaps teams are lower on him than fans are.

You’re surprised that a prospect that that fell considerably in a draft due to poor medicals which is now two years older and hasn’t proven much and is extension eligible next season didn’t garner more interest?

Rockets did well in the end to get 2 SRPs though I guess it depends which ones they are.

I still want to know why he dropped in the draft. Hopefully the Wizards can breathe new life into him, except when he plays the Magic.

Solid deal for the Wiz. Cam is a productive two-way player in limited minutes but I'm just skeptical if he'll ever reach his potential due to injuries. He got red-flagged at the draft for his medicals and his career so far seems to reflect that as he got injured in both seasons while only playing in limited minutes (averaged 17.5 mpg workload but still missed 40% of games in his career). I suspect that has a lot to do with the low acquisition cost.

Regardless 2 future 2nds isn't that much and he's worth the gamble for a young Wizards squad.

Anytime a team trades a player so early in his career - especially when he seemingly has solid potential - there’s always more that meets the eye (such as he requested trade, bad locker room presence, not buying into team philosophy etc)

Whitmore better come with right attitude because Washington is stacked on the wing as well. If he doesn't he may find himself getting waived or traded again. He had a lot of entitlement coming into Houston and played basketball like he's the only guy on the floor.
