Not sure how this is a Thibs and grimes thread..

But anyways, a couple years ago Wes was trying to recruit Beal to the Knicks. Our bench would be pretty crazy if we can get him. But it sounds like he’s clippers bound.

Clippers and Bucks make more sense for Beal. We don’t have the minutes to offer.

Shamet or Lyles for the last vet min spot makes sense.

To me the shooting guard position was always a question mark. Josh Hart as a shooting guard full time isn’t the answer and Mikal Bridges to me is more of a traditional Small forward
And OG has been playing the 4 ..

Beal would be excellent as a third option on a cheap contract And would help facilitate a trade for a super star like Giannis if available by making other players in the team expendable. Which means Bridges , Hart or OG would be trade bait

we could find beal minutes if there was mutual interest. it would just come at the expense of someone else.

the 5 out lineup could give beal a starting spot. or big lineup could at worst make him a super sub. i just don't know if he'd want to come off the bench, even for 30-ish minutes.

They finalized? Ok. So we do have room for one more Vet mini and a rookie mini? Those are the last two roster moves. That's kinda what I was alluding to. How much we have left and who do we get?

i think you have it. one vet minimum and one rookie scale minimum.

i think the vet has to be under 10 years too. it's the 2.something m vet min left.

It was reported that Yabusele left meat on the bone for a full vet mini. But it wasn't finalized yet

All one year vet min contracts count the same for cap and apron purposes. No difference for different lengths of service.

The 10+ year vets get paid more but for cap purposes all vet minimum deals impact the exact same regardless of years of service.

Gary Payton II, Amir Coffey, Landry Shamet, Trey Lyles all viable end of bench players at the vet min.

I just want the Knicks to sign a veteran PG so Kolek is buried on the bench; the complaining on here will be delicious

Its fine if they continue to bolster the bench...doesn't take away from trading 3 2nd rounders is a terrible use of assets for a guy that they never plan on giving a rotation shot.
