Who is having the worst off-season so far
We know now that GMs look at this board because of that Bane trade
What teams need to turn up the notch?
For me I think every team is making things happen but needed to know what others thought?
What's teams aren't doing enough but need to basically.

Re: Who is having the worst off-season so far
Golden State is already an aging team, and the situation with Kuminga still hasn’t been resolved.
Adding another old veteran like Horford doesn’t seem like an exciting move.

I have no idea what the kings are doing. Paying Schröder 45M who has been on like 20 teams in 5 years makes no sense. What are he derozen and Levine suppose to be?
Also has anyone let the heat and warriors know that the offseason had started?

Re: Who is having the worst off-season so far
I for one am looking forward to seeing how our front office's strategy of combining the benefits of having no draft picks with the advantages of having 15% of our capspace tied up in dead salary for the next 5 years will work out. I'm sure each of our 5 headcoaches during that period will have their work cut out for them.

Dolan getting involved in basketball operations again always works out well. Not.

Bulls have done nothing useful.
No idea what the plan is for SAC or CHA.
GSW and MIA are cool not improving I guess?

Re: Who is having the worst off-season so far
I think Sacramento and Chicago are good picks, if for no other reason than them needing an absolute best case scenario for the season to be a success. Like I don't know how either franchise can feel good going into this coming season. We're in July and already looking at a wasted season.
With New Orleans, I can at least see the hope that Zion is healthy and has a dominant season.
With Chicago, I need Buzelis to really break out, contract year Coby White, Williams and Okoro to not be JAG's and Giddey to make all of these misfit toys work somehow.
With Sacramento, I need Keegan Murray to have a bounce back year (not happening next to Derozan, Lavine and Monk) and Nique Clifford to come in and immediately make one of their vet wings expendable. Schroder will help stabilize the backcourt, but they are just Bulls West.
Damn, just typing it out depressed me. Free Keegan Murray.

Lakers by far...
Alienated LeBron James, he should have been treated better, shown he's valued and signed to another 1+1.
Let DFS go for 27M/2 guaranteed, rumors are Pelinka pulled dirty tricks that made DFS really angry.
Their main problem was defense, they let go the best defender on the team go and their main signing is offensive minded center with motor issues.
If Luka is getting good advise, he shouldn't extend with them.

With ya, except not sure why 2 people mentioned Miami after they just got Norm Powell for the price of SloMo and the beyond washed version of Kevin Love. Tough first SL game, but a lot are high on Kasparas as a value pick.
I’ll add Detroit. Lost Schroder and Beasley, added Levert and Duncan Robinson. Seems like lateral moves at best, so they’re completely relying on internal growth. Obviously didn’t plan on Beasley.

Continuing to let James collect his max is incongruent with building a contending team around Luka.
I’m quite sure Luka is more concerned about current Luka than how he might be treated as about to retire Luka.

Oh no, how can they do such things to Lebron.
After all, he is just 40 years old, paid $50M to show up in sporadic games, is on clear decline, plays no defense in regular season, but tunes in to play as much defense in playoffs.
But it's all good because he "didn't" force them to draft his untalented son, that takes roster spot, but who, talent vise, isn't even good enough for professional contract in Albania.
Lakers are smart enough to know they can't win anything with Lebron any more, but much like it was case with Kobe, smart enough to know they need to keep him because treating ultra elite players in such fashion will get them new ultra elite players down the line. They knew last year(s) of Lebron will be pure suffering, just like it was with Kobe in 2016. They had 17-65 record and Kobe was sideshow. Guy averaged 17 points a game on 35,8% FG & 17 shots. Team was laughing stock, but it helped them get new star down the line.
They are in better position now, they have Luka. They just need grandpa to finally retire.
Lakers floor is 40 wins, Lakers ceiling is 48 wins. It's throwaway season. They can MAYBE pass first round by accident, like Luka getting super hot and carrying them. But realistically, it's bridge year. Salary cap will have massive relief post 25-26. ( No Lebron, no Reaves, no Kleber, no Hachimura, Scrubby James cheap enough to be waved ). And FA pool that isn't that bad ( I Hart, Mikal Bridges, KCP, Bruce Brown, Vuc, Smart, Dort, Wiggins etc).

Yeah, LeBron was still all NBA level player this year and DFS had the highest on/off.
They could have negotiated with LeBron, got him for additional 2 years at lower rate, kept DFS for 2 years, and signed Ayton and Laravia, that's better than no DFS and disgruntled LeBron.
Luka isn't 23 y/o waiting for a rebuild, he wants to compete, and you need veterans to help him compete.

You don’t think they asked? They are projected to have $131 million in cap space next offseason. They won’t have to wait long to add vet talent and have James still this year.
(edit: apparently it’s more like 65-70, I got 131 from Spotrac)

I speculate they didn't? They don't have 131M, Luka and Reaves cap holds are additional ~70M.

That Pelicans trade puts them in the conversation I think.
