If he ends up on a 1 year deal and is back in FA next year, Tatum should be recruiting him heavy once he's back, IMO. People here have been spoiled by having Jrue and KP backing up Tatum/Brown/White. That's probably never happening in the new CBA again. Everyone needs to get it out of their heads that we can only sign 2 way studs. Not realistic.

If they could get Beal next year...

White / Beal / Brown / Tatum / (center) is a well fitting starting unit and very good if the center is up to par. Presumably Beal would be taking their MLE next year, but to get that center via trade and round out the bench they still have:

bird rights on Simons (re-sign or sign-and-trade)
bird rights on Niang (re-sign or sign-and-trade)
Hauser
Prichard
Scheierman
Gonzalez
Queta
their 2026 1st round pick - which should be fairly decent considering their current roster
future picks to use in trades (assuming they stay under the 2nd apron this year they can trade their 27, 31 and 33 1st rounders next year)
bi-annual exception signing
vet min signings

Some of that might phase each other out - if they use Simons on a S&T then they probably phase themselves out of bi-annual exception, for example. But that's just the exhaustive list of what they have. They're in pretty good position to build around their top 3, but adding Beal to that on a low cost deal would just be phenomenal value.

People conflate Beal the player with Beal the contract. Obviously he's flawed and at his bloated salary with a stupid no-trade-clause that's the main story with him. But on a MLE deal he represents phenomenal value despite his flaws. Players who don't have flaws wouldn't be available at that price point.

Beal doesnt make sense since he plays this year. I like that fit, but he can sign a one year deal and then go back on market next year.

Makes sense since they jettisoned Powell.
