Not sure how Chi or Gaff feel about a reunion. If I recall, didn't end all that great first time around

Which guards could be available for Gafford whether a 2 team or multi team swap. Before Indy got Huff, thought maybe they'd consider Jarace for him, where Dallas would ship him to another for a guard. But more unlikely now. Klay Thompson isno longer a starting quality guard on a team that wants to contender, him and D Low are probably the worst backcourt outside of Utah/Charlotte.

Some of my preferred guys would be

Aaron Wiggins
Peyton Pritchard
Benedict Mathurin
Bub carrington

Any feasible options?

Payton says spell my name right and it will only cost one pick.

If it was McCain, absolutely, but Philly laughs it off. Neither Grimes nor Dallas FO want that reunion

If it was Goga/Jett, how many 2nds would Orl add? Could Dallas then turn Jett and minor salary like Omax into Aaron Wiggins? I'm sure okc says no, but does give them more size.

Yeap okc says no. I don’t see jett and omax as a clear rotational upgrade over wiggins this year .

Yea figured as much, only real rationale was the added size. But I like WIggins a lot and would be excited to see him on the Mavs starting instead of Klay

Shouldn’t be playing with this one so much since it’s not realistic but..

Gafford and Hardy to CLT
Connaughton and CLT seconds to Brooklyn/wash/chi/whoever
Diabate to Dallas

Dallas dumps Powell and can give Beal 8.5 mil first year? Not sure if they can push for a second or two back, but would be good if they could?m.

Clears Hardy’s small contract, gets a worse but fine depth big who only costs 4.7 mil combined the next two seasons..

am i correct that this would be for beal as a rental since you cant really re-sign him after this year? you dont have bird rights i believe

I mean that’s up to BealV maybe he’s willing to do a 1+1po, nest season without Gaff/Hardy - Dallas should have their full MLE for Beal? Which he could do another 1+1 and establish early bird rights for Dallas to offer him a 4yr deal starting over 25 mil at age 34? Meh

I think almost every team that will be rumored to get Beal would be doing so as a rental if he wants another big pay day. Losing Gaff for a season of a Beal hurts, but a prove it season from Beal might help Dallas win a playoff series?

Undecided.

I'll say it again, we just saw teams with fresh legs and young stars make the most noise in the playoffs. Adding Beal to an already old Kyrie, AD, and Klay, I just dont get it.

We don’t have young stars and the team has chosen not to tank and did not to trade AD to try and get one that way.

Beal is (probably) better than Klay/Christie/DLO.

He’s only 32. Same age as AD. Younger than Kyrie or Klay. And more importantly, he will only cost 8.5 million.

Realistically, he’s not signing in Dallas. And Dallas probably can’t even switch DLO’s contract to be part of MLE versus the taxMLE which means the idea doesn’t actually work.

Would there be any interest in Josh Green + some 2nd's?

Think a realistic offer would be one of the late firsts CLT has. And Dallas should probably still turn it down until the season is lost..

Dallas knows Green. And he’s hurt.

Not a chance unless the Dallas 1st is coming back instead of 2nds with maybe rights to Liam. That may be too far in Dallas favor, but as someoen who had to watch Josh Green for years, dumping him should include some type of 1st

Dallas goes for it
CJ/Christie/DLo/Klay/Hardy hold down the backcourt until Irving comes back
Forwards are Flagg/AD/Washington-need some depth there
Lively/Powell at C (also need another)

Wash starts Gafford/Sarr and goes big

CJ isn't that good anymore. And you're putting him next to DLo for a while before Kyrie comes back. I'd rather have Gafford than CJ, especially if I'm moving Martin, Marshall and a 1st as well. Hard pass.

How about Salaun and Okogie? Okogie helps them now as a rotational defensive guard and Salaun gives them a swing at somebody that can develop with Flagg, which they’ll be hard-pressed to find with their own picks over the next few years. For Charlotte, they really need a big

Okogie is no betetr than any of the guys they already have and Salaun ahd about as bad of a rookie neyar as one could have. Dalals wouldnt discuss a Gaff to Cha deal unless their '27 first was returned or the rights to Liam
