I am with Big O that we are going to have a Doc problem here. This guy will be far more impactful than Prince but he is going to take minutes from Green and Rollins.
Think the board should start coming up with Green/Kuzma/2031 deals for a wing.

Hoping this is more proof they’re going to go 3 guard lineups most of the time. The grouping of KPJ, Green, Trent, Rollins and Anthony is pretty versatile and you can pretty much play any combination of 3 of them together.
Anthony is the only PG only guy, KPJ and Rollins can both play off ball and their length and quickness are perfectly fine defending as a 2 guard, Green and Trent are capable of covering that 3rd guard/hybrid SF spot in the modern NBA.
I’d love that perfect on paper textbook SF to be acquired as much as the next guy but until that happens, I’m pretty excited to see 3 of those guards playing with 2 of Giannis, Turner, Bobby or Sims
Harris and Prince are old man vet depth

I think the AJ Green thing is definitely something to keep one eye on. I don't think they want to include him in a deal at all but he's also pretty much our only legitimate non draft pick trade asset right now.

The last time we saw Doc's Bucks, AJ Green played 46 minutes, and Kuzma played 13. Doc has been calling Green and Trent breakout players. Green is a huge part of our plans, and I don't know why adding a 3rd string minimum salary player at another position would impact those plans in the slightest.
We didn't have to pay Anthony the minimum, as we have $3.7 million of the room exception left, but we reportedly did, and that shows our low level of commitment here

This is all about getting another ball handler and shot creator on the team. He can come in and create some offense off the bench when we inevitably get a little stagnant in games. A young depth pg who can really go off every few games on a vet min seems like a solid deal for a team needing another guy who can dribble the ball and initiate offense.

It doesn’t impact *your* plans. But Doc? Cole Anthony gonna be a voice of energy and optimism (and that’s not a bad thing). Doc’s gonna play him more minutes than this board will like.
And Dairy will want/need a big extension. That’s why I say we fire up the RGM big brain trade machine here. Get out in front of this.

What's more disappointing than this dumb signing are the number of posters that think this guy is any good. He's not a good player. Reminds me of all the posiives about Kuzma I heard on this board after the move (athletic and can attack the basket).
The only positive that I agree with is he plays wih an edge. So does TA.
The guy is inefficient, has no point guard ability, is not good at defense and totally unswitchable (take your selective advanced stats and put them where the sun don't shine).
You can excuse it as a minimum signing, but when you have a coach like Doc, we can expect him to play a lot, especially since his Dad is a friend. I'd rather have Gary Harris, that's how bad Antthony is. Harris is a bettter defender and smart enough not to shoot too much.
Orlando got rid of him and HIS PLAYING TIME DECREASED EVERY YEAR SINCE HIS SECOND YEAR. Memphis just traded Bane and still didn't want him.
Anthony can get on a heater, but he is not a good player and Orlando and Memphis knew it.
Green, Rollins, KPJ and Trent are much better in every facet of the game. Doc has Horst by the nuts.
I understand your frustration with Cole, but let me explain some things…
Cole has point guard skills, he is actually pretty good passer and playmaker. But he’s not really good breaking down defense unless he gets down hill. He loss his minutes in year 3 because of Markell Fultz , then Jalen Suggs (more because of Jalen’s defense than his point guard ability). We also run the offense through Paolo and Franz so he was edged out. The year where he actually played starter minutes he averaged 5.7 assist.
He is a pretty good shooter but he is not a ball hog. He won’t chuck, only if he is on a heater. He’s not horrendous on defense just reckless and because of his size he does get hunted. He fouls a lot. His minutes decreased not only due to his defense but whatever personal turmoil he was going through really affected him. In fact, once his production soured, we all collectively knew something was going on in his personal life, he told us so in some of his post game interviews. You might not believe me, but he lost his production the moment he cut off his dreads due to a stupid bet he had with Mo Bamba. Not even kidding. I know it was a coincidence but it coincided with his personal problems.
But I don’t want to lie to you, Coach Mosley is a defensive minded coach so because his defense was not up to par, he was benched, and had a few DNP-CD. As for rather having Harris this Cole, the trust is, Cole will probably be more available to you. Harris missed a lot of time with us because he was always injured.
wow, to all of it lol

How much $$$ Green is looking for will be interesting. He's at $2.3 million next season. I don't really trust this board to set his value lol, many were worried that Trent and/or KPJ was going to get the MLE or close to it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Thanks. A small guard who can't play defense is not something I look forward to.
you keep saying he can't play defense but i've seen the advanced numbers. so unless you watched every single Orlando game for the past two years, i dont think your opinion is as valid as the numbers. Could he get hunted in the playoffs now that you have stars playing 40 minutes per game? sure, but Cole shouldn't be our starter anyway.
Look, he's a 6'2" guy who blocked the **** out of Giannis. That says nothing about consistency, i get that, but it does speak to both his heart and his athleticism.
He's 25. He's the exact kinda guy you want to bring in for this team. If he can further refine his mid range or float game and get his 3 point shooting up just a little, this is massive. As it stands, it's just a solid little move that's part of a larger thing.
Per 36 Numbers last year: 18/6/5.6 @35% from three BUT 38% on wide open and he is a lifetime 84% FT guy.
I'll certainly take that from our backup pg slot on a vet minimum

oh, i meant the "lol" in a lighthearted way. i didn't mean to give a negative vibe, sorry. i was mostly reacting to the amount of detail on Cole's personal life. i wish we got all of that on our players. great post and much appreciated!

Anthony wasn't as good offensively as I thought, but he's a microwave guy. Got to pick your spots. Doc is notoriously bad at that. Carlisle did it brilliantly w/ Mathurin in the playoffs.
Defensively, it seems he's sub-par but not terrible. In the vicinity of Gary Trent. They should both be played as hot-hands to a good degree, w/ Trent getting more time cuz he's more consistent. But Cole's superior rebounding could have utility at times w/ Turner. Green's most well-rounded.
I'm scared of the trade we're seemingly going to make. I wish we'd keep it simple until the deadline, and go after a decent sized rebounding wing like DC's Champagnie, who shouldn't cost that much. If they give up a 1st &/or Green for Wiggins/Barrett/DeRozan cuz of Giannis fears, we riot.

I like 3/20 a lot better and I think that’s much more reasonable for both parties.

I'd be fine having Livingston back on a 2-way.
Who's two-way do you take away then between Nance, Sears and Bouyea?
