For the Simmons fans, ask yourself, if he's so good why don't/didn't the Celtics pick him up? (instead of Niang, for example). I mean Niang and Queta as your starting 4 & 5 don't exactly equal Porzingas & Horford.

I don't know if I am a Simmons' fan but what do the Celtics off-season moves in a season where they are not expected to compete have to do with Ben Simmons? I don't even know where Simmons wants to play.

The Knicks lost iHart and Mitch to injury last off-season yet the Knicks prioritized exploring other options until finally signing Precious a month into free agency. Did you have a similar push back against Precious returning?

I can understand not liking his game or potential fit and wanting to go in another direction but focusing on things like possible locker room issues from 2021 or who the Celtics signed this off-season don't seem like the best reasons not to inquire about him at the vet min.

What makes you think I'm against Precious? That's a truly bizarre take and has nothing at all to do with whether the Knicks pursue Simmons.

Well from a technical standpoint the Celtics dont play anyone who cant shoot. But is that what were doing here? This is our analysis? If anybody is worth taking, another team would've beaten us to it and taken them first?

If Beal was so good then why didnt we give him our full MLE. Its essentially what he signed for. Well Ill tell you why, because we werent patient. Beal is good.

So my point is, there are reasons why teams do or fail to do many things. Im worried about what we should do and what would help our team. Its a vet minimum deal. That alone tells you his value, but it also provides more upside than downside. If he sucks just waive him. But for us he solves for a few needs. Shooting not being one of them

Exactly. Precious being unsigned this year and last year for a month has nothing to do with whether the Knicks should have pursued him or Ben Simmons but you used Simmons being unsigned by the Celtics as a reason the Knicks shouldn't pursue him. I simply asked you if you were against signing Precious.

I'm curious to hear the opinions of people that have watched him over the last couple years and not just repeating old narratives. I was hoping you could provide a little more insight.

Who would you like the Knicks to pursue with possibly their last vet min spot?

If Ben had a brains personality transfer he'd be great... But then Knicks spent 5 years building culture and not about to throw it away on ben.

From Simmons back injury history and questionable locker room attitude, I'm happy he won't be on the Knicks.

What culture have the Knicks built over the last 5 years? I honestly have had trouble defining the identity of the team other than they seem to be a good group of guys.

if a vet min player can ruin 5 years of culture, then the culture wasn't real. a drop of water cant put out a forest fire

He's washed.

The Celtics got rid of him for a reason, and he's only played 64 games total the last 2 seasons. Either go for upside players, or wait for better vets to get bought out at the deadline.

Return to New York Knicks
