SI saying Wolves want Coby for Rob and Divenco.

Only trade I make with them is Shannon and Beringer and a 1st for Coby.

I'm a big Donte fan. Don't know how well Dillingham played so far. That said, If they added Shannon, Beringer or a 1st to that deal I'd consider it.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

You're overvaluing Coby especially on an expiring contract.

You're massively overvaluing Coby on an expiring contract.

sports illustrated is not reporting that is a trade the wolves are pursuing. some random dude who runs the timberwolves blog on the sports illustrated website has invented that as a trade idea.

Just some blogger with ideas..

But I would love to get DiVicenzo and Beringer OR 1st for Coby, but very unlikely.. we have no use for Rob

AK won’t trade in division but I like Ron Holland. He won’t break out in DET due to usage but I think he will once he gets the usage. Also like how confident and fearless he is.

AK traded in the division about 15 seconds ago. :D

Does anyone anywhere in the NBA care about divisions even a little bit? Conference, sure. Division?

Very much non core pieces.

Coby for Holland would be quite a bit different.

The pieces would be bigger, but I don't think AK cares even a teency little bit about trading within the division.

Just more speculation of a Vuc/Simons deal, but gotta say it would make me happy.

You could say that speculated BOS trade is even value and saves the Celtics money.

The Bulls end up OK at the 5 spot, maybe needing some extra body. But even if you count Hauser as SF the Bulls end up with a glut.

Matas and let's say Patrick at the PF
Okoro, Hauser, Phillips, Williams and the way Billy plays Huerter at the SF before Essengue gets off his chair

because there are still only 48 minutes per position and you have an overcrowded bench

Giddey Jones White Carter
White Simons Huerter Hauser Terry

explain how that works out

Looking around the league I would be calling Daniel Theis to see if he had aspirations to be a coach, maybe a big man coach, maybe he wanted to run an off season big man's camp
If so after a Vucevic trade, Add him as the 3rd center and have him explore how he thinks he'd be as an assistant coach down the road

I love the trade if only to just move on from Vuc, who I'd gladly have the Bulls buy out, ideally at a discount.

What we need from this season is to put the most complementary rotation around Giddey/Coby/Matas to develop them and assess if how to best move forward adding another core piece using our remaining expirings. Vuc is a terrible complementary piece due to his need for touches on offense and requirement for the other guys to cover for him on defense which makes our guys look worse.

Adding Simons gives us a high caliber 6th man and a competing piece to Coby and a little insurance if he leaves.

The glut issue isn't really an issue. While I would look to give Simons minutes, the only other guys who NEED any minutes are Giddey/Coby/Matas. You could go something like:

Giddey (32) Jones (16)
White (32) Simons (16)
Okoro (24) Huerter or Hauser (24)
Matas (32) Pat or Noa (16)
Collins (28)/Smith (20)

We could look to trade Ayo or buyout Carter and sign a cheap 3rd C or go with the Aussie.

The way I see it, by the end of the season, there may be 2 or 3 keepers from our expirings. There will be enough opportunities to get a good read on that over the season.

I'd absolutely love to somehow flip Vucevic (and Terry/Phillips) for Nic Claxton. Rim running defensive big with 3 years remaining on his deal that decreases each season.

Only 26 years old.

I would also love that but that's like saying I would trade Coby White for Beringer, Shannon Jr and a 1st round pick.

It'd be great but there is zero chance of it happening.

Well I don't know if it's that extreme. But I get your point.

Vucevic will be in Chicago until his contract expires (whether that's this one or an extension AK signs him to). There just isn't really any teams out there that really need or would want Vucevic.

A deadline buyout is the only other way I could see Vuc on another team.

I'm trying to be optimistic that the org buys him out before the season to embrace the youth movement, but that's the likely outcome.

Are you going to call BRK some time after midnight when only the cleaning crew is in the building and they agree to this?

It's past the point of hoping for a trade, I think we're at the stage of Vucevic's agent finding a team that would sign him to a contract for X dollars, then the Bulls buy him out at $21.5M minus X. The Bulls move on, Vuc gets to go where he wants and some team gets him for their price

Return to Chicago Bulls
