Those stats don't take into account that Jayden was a rookie quarterback and the game plans were very conservative early on. Not to mention the left tackle position was weak so Jayden had to get rid of the ball quickly much of the time. On the season Jayden was 16th in total yards passing.
Terry hasnt missed a game in years and has put up good numbers on a crap team with weak quarterbacks for years.
These are good points. If Terry was open for a two year extension then I’d be all in. Three more years at ages 30-32. Sign me up. My feeling is he wants a 3-4 year extension where you’d be paying a 33/34 y.o. receiver top of the market money for what he’s done, not what he’s doing. Thats Dan Snyder level of cap management.
That's just it, we don't know what he is asking for or what they are offering. Having a strong opinion one way or another doesn't make much sense given the lack of info.
The first 30 seconds of his press conference gave me a gut feeling about Terry McLaurin.
Like I stated earlier, sign him to a reasonable price with the long game in mind. Let him know you value him and want him to be a foundational piece of the franchise. See if he's amenable to sacrificing a wee bit.
OTOH, if Scary Terry is a mercenary for hire, let him go to the highest bidder. BRADLEY BEAL was a good comparison, DukeLecker. I would much rather lose Terry than have a bad contract moving forward.
Going back to my gut feeling, I think Terry is all about getting his "respect", his bag. Trade him when a good offer comes.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
