Speaking of Nacho, this seems like a good time to remember what he said about TA.

Kuz still averaged 20+ minutes and 10 points on a championship team. Whatever his role was, he played it and got a ring. Our minimum contract dudes still have more to prove than Kuz.. but yeah I think the KPJ breakout continues but that's homer bs

lol yea we’re at the part of the offseason where we’ve restated our positions a bunch of times already.

Honestly tho I’ll be a little upset if Thanasis isn’t brought back if he wants to play considering how important he is to Giannis. There is a noticeable difference to the vibes when he is around and maximizing that this upcoming season is going to be huge. Could you imagine if some other team signed Thanasis too? If I were the Knicks I’d offer him a multiyear deal just to have an in with Giannis. Need him for Giannis and the culture, also just for peace of mind as a Bucks fan since Thanasis being elsewhere would cause a ton of anxiety for the fanbase & be fodder for endless speculation.

At this point I think it's 80/20 Kuzma isn't traded this offseason.

If the Bucks were going to include our 2031 first or something along those lines to swap him for Wiggins (which Paul Henning's been calling for) or RJ Barrett or the like it seems like it'd have already happened.

Caveat is the Kings / Kuminga situation remains unresolved.

Definitely could see Sacramento valuing Kuz as a backup plan to even out their absurdly guard-heavy roster. But idk if there's a Malik Monk to a third team deal that seems overly enticing to Milwaukee.

The Bucks or anyone making a play for Kuminga is also complicated by how the Warriors would need to include Buddy Hield or Moody if they'd be taking back salary significantly over the MLE.

there's a video on youtube of Sessions' top 10 plays of his career. you could make at least two top 10 play videos of KPJs 30 games with the Bucks and each would be WAY more impressive than that Sessions video. i know that's not a fool proof argument, i just think Sessions and KPJ dont really have much in common other than having a hot streak for the Bucks at some point.

everyone will be on board the KPJ train once it gets rolling this season. what will always baffle me is how so many were resistant to believe he could replicate his performance. the guy is absolutely oozing talent and finally has the right situation. if anyone knows of a place i can bet on his season average over/under let me know, i'm smashing the over.

I can't remember who on here made the joke that Ramon Sessions sounds like the name of a Steely Dan album, but it's still the first thing that hits my brain whenever he comes up.

I loved Ramon in his first stint here. Was always hopeful he would “put it together” but honestly, he had a pretty solid career as a journeyman role player.

He's 32nd in most improved player odds on fanduel & our best chance. +6000. It's a good bet on merit. I wonder if he'd have to be undeniable for him to win though, due to politics.

BTW, Green is our only other player they've given odds to, at +7500. IMO that would be a bad bet. There's not that much more for improvement w/ him. He's already good, but would never sniff all-star. Kuz has so much room for improvement, so should be on there. Rollins has a chance.

I'm putting this in the team thread. Lasry sold is stake 2 years ago for $875 million, meaning the Bucks had a valuation of $3.5 billion. All of the current valuations I see put the Bucks around $4.0 to $4.1 billion and the Blazers at around $3.5 billion. Bucks would likely fetch around $4.5 billion right now.

Bucks open at open against the Middleton's. He's listed as questionable.

We'd have to know the surrounding details/picks etc. But that Bobby/Kuminga swap would be an interesting one to be a fly on the wall for. There's a lot of things that would've made sense on either route they decided on it.

Not sure of the cap mechanics a Bobby for Kuminga trade would have required (Bobby opting in before the trade?) either way seems like a vote of confidence for him beyond Horst not wanting an asset to walk out the door for free.

It is also worth mentioning that the Milwaukee Bucks were another team that kicked around the idea of pursuing Kuminga. If they were to do so, the Warriors made it known they would want Bobby Portis in a sign-and-trade scenario, which is something Milwaukee wasn't willing to do.

The Dubs have held interest in Portis dating back to before the 2024 NBA trade deadline.

And so that leaves the Kings as the sole destination for Kuminga if a sign-and-trade were to develop at this point in the offseason.

Maybe Horst can circle back with a Kuzma offer instead and they cave in and accept.
