No what is relevant to our time and the discussion is whether they deserve to be Wolves fans…

We have one group who is arguing for division in being a Wolves fan, the other side isn’t. Just because I don’t like KG or people who think like him I don’t think he should not see his team include him as a fan(which they did).

Nope. I don’t have to tolerate intolerance.

To be tolerant a person has to disagree with something about whatever it is they are tolerant of. Without disagreement there is no possibility of tolerance. There are some instances where tolerance is not good. I admit to being intolerant of persons with penises participating in women's sports. Tolerating those people leads to actual women being robbed of their opportunity to make a living in professional sports. I have a daughter that has a good chance of being a professional athlete, but she will have no chance of that if she has to compete with person's with penises. I have no tolerance of pedophiles working with children such as being a teacher or in childcare. When the cons of tolerance outweigh the benefits intolerance is the best policy. There are many more examples of tolerance being a bad quality. However, I'm totally open to being friends with and showing love and compassion to all people. Transgender, they/them fine.

I don’t know that anyone has a right to decide whether someone else “ deserve to be Wolves fans…”

I see both sides of this argument and I see why people take it so personally. That said I don’t think you are asking the correct questions. For a long time homosexuality was considered a sickness. It was officially classified as a mental illness at one point. Today it is accepted by some, tolerated by others, and persecuted by plenty more. This argument started because KG took issue with a survey question that he seemed troubled by. His issue with it exposed his inherent bias against a subset of the population. This in turn exposed your bias against a different subset of the population. You dislike him because you find him bigoted and ignorant. That said, had the team left off the possibility of gender nonconformity in their survey would you have discontinued your fandom in protest? Do you boycott individuals and institutions that are not inclusive, or only the ones who say so publicly? Ant has made homophobic statements, is he not a real Timberwolf? The issue of who deserves what is more complicated than who believes what, I think deep down you know this. Perhaps a better way to establish dialogue is to question the origin of the belief (misguided or not,) and have a discussion about that.

It isn’t complicated. I never argued he shouldn’t be allowed to be a Wolves fan. I pointed out he is a hypocrite and divisive. He argued a bunch of bigoted points as to why these people shouldn’t be able to be recognized as Wolves fans,

*A 2022 Pew Research Center survey found that about 1.6% of U.S. adults identify as transgender or non-binary, with a significant increase (5%) in this identification among younger adults under 30.

*The Williams Institute estimated that 1.2 million non-binary adults were living in the U.S. in 2021.

*A 2021 Ipsos survey of 27 countries found that 1% of adults identified as transgender, non-binary, gender-fluid, or in another way, rather than male or female.

Keep in mind that those numbers are probably lower to a degree due to factors like fear of discrimination.

Also, having non inclusive views should receive contempt.

What does that have to do with gender identity?

I'm not Debating Gender Identity. Done with that. I'm discussing tolerance which I believe is mostly a very good thing.

He started this whole thing, then escalated it, then asked why can't we all be friends, then spouted bigoted stuff, then wanted to back off after adding even more bigoted stuff. All while sticking to his stance and straw manning arguments. Then says stuff like I tried to stop guys but these other mean posters won't back off.

Another example of Straw Man tactics. I never said anybody should be excluded as a fan. I was just annoyed by the question.

OMG do you even have one iota of knowledge about logic and debate. I have not misrepresented anyone's position. I take great pains to never name call and never straw man anybody. My position has been falsified over and over and over. I have been attacked on a personal level with name calling. I have never said one bigoted thing in all of this exchange. I'm standing by my stance that I'm done discussing gender identity. I made a post mentioning Transgender/They Them, but that was regarding tolerance. I've never backed off my position or attempted to back off. I'm very comfortable with the statements I have made. You won't hear me reiterate anything because I said I was done and I'm doing my very best to stick to my word despite myriad attempts to goad me into breaking my word.

I still have to go through posts, but real life stuff is taking priority, so unlocking. Block each other and drop the conversation in the interim.

Thanks!

Bones Hyland has emerged as the frontrunner to be signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves for their final planned roster spot heading into the 2025-26 season. Hyland signed a Two-Way contract with the Wolves in February.

The Wolves have also considered Malcolm Brogdon, Cam Payne and Landry Shamet.

Tim Connelly was the lead executive of the Denver Nuggets when they drafted Hyland in the first round in 2021. Hyland appeared in 24 games last season with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Wolves, averaging 6.2 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 9.9 minutes.

Hyland also averaged 33.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 40.8 minutes in two G League games.

I really hoped they would have gone for a back up center. If Rudy goes down with an injury, the season is lost.

Hopefully it will mean Berlinger can handle some minutes.

Who would be willing to sign up to make the minimum and take DNP-CDs as injury insurance for a center who is generally healthy and one of the most physically fit big men in the league?
