I doubt Lakers would use their FRP for Thomas more then likely going to use it on someone like; Giannis, Wemby, Jokic etc think tier 1 players :)

its a swap... so we get one back...

the main thing here is we get an extra roster spot and shed almost 20 mil in salary, and get a serviceable big at a great contract

I would use this trade to see if we can get Norman Powell for cam Thomas and Gabe Vincent

Oh I see now my bad, It's still a no. Just out of curioristy which pic are the Lakers getting back? not that I see this happening just curious.

Both Cam and Sharpe are worth more then that offer. I'd love Sharpe, Knecht and FRP might and I state might do it, If Nets want more pics which I assume they do.

Why on earth would you want to try and flip Cam/Gabe after trade Cam for Norman Powell, this makes no sense what so ever. Cam is 23 Powell is 32/3 just make no sense, you'd better off keeping Cam if you get him IMO.

Neither Nets or Lakers do this trade, back to the drawing board :) well, ok I think Lakers might, but Nets won't probably have to give them the FRP not swapping and even include a pick swap or 2.

TODAY’S UPDATE!!

REPORT: Austin Reaves reportedly wants a contract worth the same as Tyler Herro’s, per. NBC Sports
“Reaves will be a free agent. There is zero chance he is picking up his $14.9 million player option, even if he plans to stay with the Lakers. Reaves reportedly wants to be paid in the Tyler Herro range of $30 million a year (and Herro is a good comp in a lot of ways).”

We can't give it to him. Because we reserve the Big percentage of the Cap Space for the Lebrons. Lukas. Kobes. Shaq etc... The Dollar amount sounds fair. He does deserve Herro type money. BUT THE CAP SPACE is what he would be digging into. And he does not deserve that type of cap space, which is reserved for the Elite, Generational type player. Which he is not. He is currently our 3rd option. 30 per for a 3rd option should be an easy decision.
We have had ex players get paid big elsewhere. The reality set in quick in what they actually and truly are, role players. Not #1s

$30-35 million a year is going to be in the range for an NBA starter who scores 15-20 PPG or more with the increase in revenues from the new TV contract.

Superstars are going to get more in the $45-50 million and up range.

If he has another season like last year, someone will pay Reeves, if not the Lakers.

Jeannie may want to pay the homegrown kid.

we won't have Bron's contract next year, not unless he takes a big cut, so that's 54 mill plus Rui, Gabe, Vince who add up to a tad over 40 mill.

We can pay Austin comfortably and should.

Not only that his a free agent next offseason is he not?? that means have up until mid trade season to make a trade and teams will know this, won't offer anything of real value most likely, I think we'll end up paying him what he wants. I've said else where on here we should trade him, but once Bron goes we still need Reaves playmaking etc, can't just have Luka.

Bron has a no trade... he'll have to be happy where he goes.

Yeh I know, sadly. I was talking about retirement

But if he were to go and play for another team for another season or 2; Dallas/Cavs maybe Clippers.
