Moving this graph into this thread for discussion.
I’d really like a local journalist (zero chance I know) to take on and look into specifics. I/e. What does our farm team cost to run, operations, stadium, etc. We all think Mark A. is holding back profit. He might be.
Also, maybe Mark A. is doing what Bud did. Taking annual profits and buying out existing shareholders so his ownership percentage goes up.
I don’t believe the table below reflects reality, but after this season we’re owed some answers.

I’m kind of curious how close Attanasio is to selling. He just turned 68 for starters and think he would maybe want to cash out while in (assumed good) health. Isn’t he also a front runner to be the next MLB commissioner which I assume would require selling. I know he has 2 kids so I guess it could be handed down too.

Dodgers fan tweet below. I don’t think he understands how much the Brewers have been winning the past decade. They’ve done pretty well. There isn’t more revenue to mine here. Our attendance is already high and the team is maximizing what they can in this market.
We’ll never be able to afford the deals the Dodgers can put out. And perhaps the bigger problem is injuries. If we do open the vault for a Yelich and he gets injured, we carry basically dead money. We can’t afford dead money. The Dodgers can.

Didn't the dodgers basically sit all of their pitchers during the regular season and let them stretch out until after the all star break? the brewers can't afford to do that. They're out here running bullpen games every other game because woody is out.

The latter is a huge thing. Let's say we kept Burnes, gave him that huge deal and he blows out his elbow like he did this year. We'd have 1/3 of our payroll tied up into a guy with a functioning elbow and who may never get back to a level to accurately represent that contract. AZ will have to deal with that but they've randomly been able to give out some massive deals here and there.
The only real gambles we can afford to take are things like the Yelich extension or the Chourio deal.

Wonder how much SF had to pay to lure Vitello out of Tennessee. Don’t feel like you see alot of NCAA managers jump to MLB either. Wonder if Murph’s success is opening door a bit.

I think quite a bit. Especially in this day and age, once a team has success using an underutilized pipeline, others are quick to be next.
Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.

God, I hope this happens. Cubs fans spent the past week cucking for the Dodgers so for them to turn around and sign one of their best players would be chefs kiss and probably brings us closer to a salary floor & Cap and no deferred crap in the next CBA.
