Snell is going for his redemption game tonight. He'll be dealing.

I like this plan and was considering it also. Gausman’s performance was almost wasted opposite Yamamoto last game. I doubt they do it because John’s always focused more so on the moment before him than what comes later (*cough* game 3) but I do think there’s some logic to it personally.

Scherzer would be on 3 days' rest, they wouldn't do it.

**** right, I thought he pitched a day earlier (4 days rest).

I still wonder if the idea hold merit (even if it isn't Scherzer). Why waste Gausman on a game like that when you're facing someone who's been near unhittable.

You hope Popkins and the hitters have figured him out after 9 innings.

I think Snell was embarrassed that his command was called out by media and his Manager and expect him to be a lot nastier tonight so I hope the Jays don’t do what they did against Yamamoto and get caught looking as he paints the corners. If it’s over the plate you gotta swing.

I do hope we solve Yamamoto. Obviously we have to if we lose today but even if we win, we need to end this in 6

Snell doesn't play for the Rays anymore. His devil magic has dried up. He's going to get shelled again.

Yea annoying thing about facing Snell is that our lefty hitters (Lukes, Varsho, Barger) get nerfed and with Springer gone, we can't afford that.

I still like the idea of putting Bo back at 2nd and bringing France in to DH tonight. I think he’s looked good so far and with Springer out we could use a bit more of his offence and power in the lineup.

This is a MUST WIN game. The reality is we're facing Yamamoto who is the only starter who can pitch a full game against us, and that's a big problem. I've got the Dodgers winning game 6 against us. We need to be an early-hitting team, and get Springer whose an all-time playoffs performer in.

We need to get Snell out to expose the pen like we did in Game 1. Let's Go Jays! We can do this! WOOOOOOO

I'm not scared of him and I'm sure the Jays aren't either. He got them the first game and it was their first time seeing him ever. I wouldn't be surprised if they get to him in game 6.

Aren’t you the guy who kept saying we were gonna lose because dodgers were so much better and you needed to prepare everyone for the loss? Please stop pretending you’re a jays fan.

Yeah, I underestimated the Jays and overestimated the Dodgers for sure. I am a Jays fan, this was what I said:

I want Jays to win, I think Dodgers will.

Doesn't mean I'm not a Jays fan. I want em to win, and I think they'll win. The Dodgers bullpen just can't lock in like game 3

Same. I think now that we've seen him once we will be better.

I think they might keep springer out one more day if it gives him a chance to play game 6 or 7 especially now that we know we will be heading back for game 6 its less pressure to play him if he can improve even a few % by the weekend.

I personally thought spinrger was done for the year but if there is even a remote chance he can play then you give him every chance to play semi healthy. He might also be a decoy who knows.

I love that we went after the former Tampa devil ray pitching.

I would go super righty if I can today. Don't give any free leftys if you can avoid it. Defence takes a hit bit expose their bullpen.

I would play Bo at 2nd and dh France. Bring in straw and Schneider in the Of.

Bring in Luke's and barger later in the game.

I think ikf might come in especially since they said he has decent numbers against Snell.

I don't want to sound arrogant either re: Yamamoto, he was amazing but things like that tend to happen when you see a pitcher for the first time like Yesavage vs Yankees.

For tonight I think that's what Schneider will do. Bo will be at second, Davis in the outfield, I think I would leave Luke's in and France/Springer DH depending on health.

I would put the chances of Bichette starting at 2B at 1% and that 1% is if Springer actually is able to play baseball today.

You didn't overestimate the Dodgers. But many fans always overlook the fact that small sample sizes in baseball can overturn predictions. Winning in the playoffs isn't about how talented you are overall, it's how well both teams are playing right at that moment in time. In other sports it's easier to predict an outcome because those sports are less streaky and random than baseball. The Jays have played well this season but they haven't played THIS well before this month. Vladdy hit only 23 homers in the regular season, how were we supposed to predict he'd hit 7 this postseason and have one of the hottest postseason runs ever? You can't predict this stuff and this stuff matters a lot.

There are up to 3 games left to go and whatever team pitches and hits better specifically for those games will win. It doesn't mean the losing team is less talented though. It just means they didn't have it in that specific moment in time.
