Cam has skills. He is a slightly above average offensive player. This past game against the 76ers, I specifically looked for his passing because that was one of his issues to improve upon. He is a capable passer and if shots were to fall, he'd have a few assists. This is where the stat line doesnt do him justice. THere were a couple of no-calls by the refs when he drove to the basket, which should have been FT's for him. On D, he had 2 steals and he did contest shots. He could work on his recognition as he was caught out of place, or just didnt react to a play in time.
Where he very much needs to improve is with rebounding. Given his strength, I would expect more than 0 rebounds. He needs to learn boxing out and positioning. If Tre can do it, so can Cam.
Theres an above average player in there. Can he put it together? I think so.

I think he might be the odd man out when Bilal gets back.

You know Bilal will bring it defensively, and coaches love that, so Bilal is going to play. Bilal's minutes are probably going to come from Whitmore and maybe Bub. I'd like to see CJ's minutes dialed back from 33 to something more like 28, but I don't think they will drop more than that for a while.

Makes sense to me, nate....

Still early, obviously, but Cam has already demonstrated the problems that got him where he is. Here's hoping he shows progress soon.

Bilal's return will present an issue for sure. But it's not just that! Will Riley has already shown intriguing flashes -- he needs minutes. We also need to see some of Watkins. Not to mention that it's utterly ridiculous to bench Justin; the guy's obviously a terrific player.

We'll see.

Cam's gifts are obvious. It's worth the effort to help him maximize his ability to bring those gifts to bear on the court.

He needs a brain transplant. He seems to be only interested in scoring and he’s not good enough at it to be so one dimensional.

I'm afraid you may be right and that would be annoying.

This is what I'd do:

CJ 24 mins/Bub 24 mins
Bilal 20 mins/Tre 28 mins
Middleton 20 mins/Cam 20 min/ Bilal 8 mins
George 32 mins/Cam 4 mins/Champs 12 mins
Sarr 32 mins/Bagley 16 mins

However, in reality, CJ and Middleton are likely to get 28-30 mins a piece, which would leave Cam riding the pine...And this is in addition to Riley and Watkins who also need minutes!!

Yeah there was a sequence where he made a nice pass that lead to a potential hockey assist. Even the turnover he had was a result of a pass.

Also seems to be getting his offense with the help of his teammates. 3 of his 4 buckets came directly off a pass from his teammates and the other was a steal. His misses included an end of shot clock shot where he had to throw something up, a good look at a layup off a give and go. The only questionable one was a midrange shot early in the shot clock

As for his rebounding it was a bit disappointing but he has had better rebounding numbers in past seasons. Maybe though it speaks to how bad defensively the bench unit is as a whole.

Snoop appeared in season 3. Michael came around in season 4. So perhaps Michael is in the 2026 NBA draft.
