This is about as one man army as it gets.

Image

This is a real sport, not CTE ball. Mid QBs like Jalen Hurts can do the bare minimum insulated by the best OL, defense, weapon room and secondary in the league and win a championship on your favorite team, but basketball doesn't work that way.

Joel Embiid has had his fair share of playoff lows, but his lack of postseason success is a representation of the Sixers failure to build competent rosters around him. His on/off swing is borderline unfathomable. He's one of the greatest high leverage floor tilers the game has ever seen.

Failure to acknowledge this only let's me know that you're either unaware of what you've witnessed throughout his career or are just wilfully ignorant.

I am genuinely sad that Embiid will never be a great defender again. He was incredible to watch when he was at his peak.

Can you imagine how electric this core would be with Ozempic Zion?

Pelicans 0-4, something's gotta give.

Enough with the Joel apology tour.

May 12, 2019: Game 7 @ TOR
Raptors 92, Sixers 90

June 20, 2021: Game 7 vs ATL
Hawks 103, Sixers 96

May 15, 2023: Game 7 @ BOS
Celtics 112, Sixers 88

These are the numbers that matter. Right there. Superstars win at least one of those games. They just do. Doesn't matter who they have around them.

You trade his *** for positive value the second you can get it and you move on.

Joel’s talent is undeniable. His playoff failures are too. At the end of the day, there’s no excuse for a player of his ability not to have made it out of the second round. None. That is squarely on him.

Thankfully Morey is less emotional than we are. If he finds the right deal for Embiid at the deadline or this summer, he'll do it. There's no way he watches this team and believes Embiid is a good building block at $55 mil.

Give it a bit of time. He even played defense Olympics and playoffs vs Knicks.

Im watching this Clips-Pels game right now. And I invite you to watch Pels games. I’d rather have the current version of Embiid on defense than Zion.

Trading PG is more realistic than Embiid.

I wonder what a PG/McCain package gets us. Need a PF desperately. Especially with this version of Embiid.

I don't think so. Embiid is out there putting up numbers. George is still rehabbing.

Chicago is 5-0 and cannot draw a big name FA to save their lives. Time for them to go for it and bring in that big name while they can.

They have some bad money, expiring contracts, and picks. Perfect match.

Nah. PG is making less and has one less year on his deal. I think Embiid's injury risks are worse.

Simpler version, without Kessler...

CHI out: Vucevic, Smith, Williams, 2026 POR 1st
CHI in: Embiid

PHI out: Embiid, Drummond, 2028 LAC 1st
PHI in: Lauri, Smith

UTA out: Lauri
UTA in: Vucevic, Williams, Drummond, 2026 POR 1st, 2028 LAC 1st

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Lauri/Watford/Barlow
Bona/Smith/Broome

Gives us ample flexibility to retain Grimes + Oubre next summer, as well as use the MLE to shore up any deficiencies still present in the offseason.

If there's a direct trade between us and Utah involving Embiid and Lauri, I'd be all for it too, though Ainge and Morey don't really play nice with one another.
