Raptors need to avenge the Jays, but they should not under-estimate the Grizz without Ja; we really shouldn't under-estimate anyone.

I like the idea, but in reality we'd just be building the most injury prone team ever, who can't shoot.

It really depends on how cheap we could get him.

IQ hasn't been an Ironman so not sure that matters much. Ja at his peak is legit All NBA, just another planet from IQ. I would offer IQ+ some of the guard prospects in a heartbeat

Same probably, but you’d need a follow up move because Ja/RJ/Barnes is a horrible fit

Grizzlies have been better without Ja for years

And about Ja, he gets injured a lot but always comes back strong!..it looks like he is going to be traded..Ingram and Ja on the same team, I mean......We would have to consider this strongly

We absolutely do not have to consider this at all

Ja is a proven MVP-Talent, of course we do!I want RJ to be a Raptors for life, but if it takes IQ and RJ (+ a little), well...
Certainly those injuries have been concerning, but again he always comes back strong

So we’re just making stuff up now? The highest Ja has ever finished in MVP is 7th and he’s had one all nba second team. Other than that it’s been a combination of injuries, suspensions and disappointing playoff performances. The guy is as injured as Ingram and unless we plan on trading every other player around him, he’s not going to buy into our offence.

Ja already peaked by his third year. An amazing player at the time but he’s maybe 70% of the player that he was in year 3.

That’s a no for me imo.

The upside is appealing, but he’s a poor shooter who is a head case who is very reliant on athletic ability and already has been very injury prone.

If you can do it at a fairly cheap cost, sure, but I’m not attaching picks to do it.

His off court antics make him a toxic asset.

Not worth the investment.

He is great and fun player to watch but you can't count on him to be ready and available when you need him. Grizzlies need him now so this suspension is unnecessary and avoidable but his child-like brain is getting in the way.

I'm not sure how much of his "bad boy" image carries over to Toronto. That flies in Memphis, those guys are gone here.

His dad is the big problem. And no...it doesn't fly in Memphis (hence the MULTIPLE team suspensions over the years)...it doesn't fly anywhere...not for a professional athlete. He doesn't need a change in scenery...he needs to grow the F up. He's just so childish on the court, taunting guys and ****...and off the court...he's basically daring the league and his own team to suspend him.

Look past the flashy highlight dunks...and the kid has issues bigger than basketball. Moving him out of Memphis doesn't fix it.

Dude has already cost himself 10s of millions because he couldn't keep himself from waving guns around in public and getting suspended...and thus being ineligible for his super max contract. He's hurting his own money by his behaviour...and he doesn't seem to care.

He's acting like a brat.

The issue reportedly stems from comments made by Morant following Friday’s 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, as first reported by ESPN.

Morant scored only eight points in Memphis’ 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. He had a brief postgame interview session, with most of his answers some form of “Go ask the coaching staff.”

Morant also seemed disengaged at times in that game, even walking a few steps away from the bench area during a time-out in the second half.

Asked about what happened in the game, Morant said, “Go ask them,” referring to the coaching staff. He did not score in the second half.

Asked about what happened in the game, Morant said, “Go ask them,” referring to the coaching staff. He did not score in the second half.

He did give a different answer when asked if he felt like he should have played more or what could have gone differently.

“According to them, probably don’t play me, honestly,” Morant said. “That’s what basically the message was, after. It’s cool.”

Morant played 8 minutes, 25 seconds in the fourth quarter on Friday, more than any other Memphis player. He logged 16:11 of on-court time in the second half, second-most on the team; Jaren Jackson Jr. played 16:20 after halftime. Morant missed all seven of his shots in the second half.

This suspension is the latest in a long series of disciplinary actions with Morant in recent years.

This kind of **** doesn't doesn't fly in Memphis and it 100% would not fly in Toronto.

Yeah definitely no picks. IQ + one of Dick/Jakobe max. Fit is poor for sure but it's one of those sheer talent upgrades. This team is going nowhere so may as well experiment

The guys were in attendance last night and witnessed the heartbreak.

Really hope they’re motivated to get us back to the playoffs.

The city is just different when their team makes the playoffs.

The way everyone gets behind the team is beautiful. Such a good feeling. It truly fills the city up with joy & happiness.

Hope we get to experience it again soon.

Ja's behavior would be semi-tolerable if Memphis were winning and Morant were producing but since they aren't doing either of those, it's a problem.

And he has shown to have the athleticism and ability to be a dynamic star level talent but that downhill/highflying style doesn't seem to be something that many can keep going too long before it becomes a burden on the body.

If he had a better support system around him that didn't feed into his foolishness he'd perhaps be able to orient his game in a way like Ant has where he worked at other things so he wasn't one-dimensional, but that doesn't seem to be happening. So it's just wasted potential at this point.

The Grizz have done a great job of constantly finding nba contributors and Coward is the latest in that line, but still feels like they missed their window a few years ago with those Brooks teams.

Imagine if someone said "CMB, Barnes, and Shead with be 2nd, 3rd and 4th in 3pt% after 6 games".

That person would get an infraction for trolling....lol.

Memphis is one of those teams where I said BI's impact should be felt. Barnes really struggled with JJJ on him last year. But adding BI likely means if that matchuo continues(JJJ on Barnes) then BI and RJ should have great mismatches....and Barnes should defer to them. And if JJJ is on BI, then Barnes and RJ need to win their mismatches.

Will be interesting to see how things play out.

He's had a ton of injuries and it's very likely he's on the decline athletically already. He only had 17 dunks last season in 50 games.

You could look at the year off as a good thing in terms of wear and tear. Bad for them then, but good for him going forward.

The dunks thing was organizational, they wanted him dunking less to reduce injury risk. Part of why his value is so low. He's still got those springs.
