I think he's a 4/5 , in the same vein Scottie isn't a true PF and more of a 3/4.
Moving forward and recognizing we played 3 of the 4 tallest teams in the league, you can play CMB at center in most matchups, and then mix looks up when you face the Joker's, Embiid's et al. CMB's still a kid, but he has enormous hands and a man's physique already. He's only going to grow into that frame. Now it's his rook year, so he'll likely hit a wall, but that's a chat for another day.

He is too valuable, on both ends of the court, to keep out of the SL.

CMB will have to play both to maximize his ceiling.

RJ has improved this year.

Better at finishing around the rim, knocking down his free throws, and improved athleticism.

Defensively he's also made some strides although he's still got room to grow in that dept.

My take is that CMB can hang with the JJJs and Myles Turners, but can't with the Livelys, Adams, and Brows inside (yet). We need Poeltl for those teams, and we've mainly faced those teams so far, but he's broken.

We need to find another word for perceived redundancy & fit as a negative, or at least not jump the gun or be so hesitant. Often times the redundancy/fit concerns turn into an identity/Vision/chemistry position positive. RJ + CMB were my focus there.
I really like CMB skillset and his versatility for us, real positive player

I don’t think Ochai is blocking CMB. CMB will be the backup 4/5 with Mamu, and Mogbo the 5th big behind then.

Ochai is in a spot with Dick/Walter/Battle. If we move Ochai, it should actually be for another bigger 3/4 wing or a backup true 5 man.

yeah I'd like to get a true back up big man and make CMB that bigger 3/4 u speak of instead of the 5/4 he's been playing was my thought process

Ideally CMB wouldn’t be thrown to the wolves like this but we have little choice it seems. I’m the starting lineup much sooner than expected. While he’s outsized by a large margin most nights this is good experience for him to process how to play against that. For some rookies it’d be too much but I get the feeling he can handle it.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Besides Jakob, CMB is the heaviest player on the roster at 250, heavier than Scottie, and he has huge hands and arms. I think we worry too much about how high the top of a guy's head is. He'll be a solid option at C except against a couple jumbo teams.

a young KL or Jrue Holiday would be a great fit imo.

Been saying this for a long time. We need a legit 2 way upgrade at PG.

Shead's been the better player this season so far. Hopefully IQ picks things up.

IQ's 3 ball is starting to fall.

But unfortunately his defense, passing, and decision making remain a huge work in progress.

Or Poeltl heals up, and we give Shead more minutes.

he'll move back to bench once jakob comes back, but he'll definitely get minutes

Ya...he'll still easily get 30+ minutes per game as a backup 3/4/5. He's making a case as 6th man for this season and the ultimate utility guy.

And yes...he will finish a lot of games this season at the 5 over Jak. I'm not concerned about minutes or role for CMB.

I just love how he's able to rip the ball out of guys hands. He's very strong. Can't wait to see him after he adds the obligatory 15 lbs of muscle in the summer.

He'll probably grow couple inches too ;)

no way we can play scottie, cmb and jak. we need shooting

The way Scottie's been shooting from outside this season, he is the spacing

Scottie replaces the PG and CMB replaces Scottie.

That lineup tho should be tried pronto with Mamu in for Yak. Against teams that play small

Scottie cannot replace the PG.

We need a legit PG, that can handle the ball and facilitate for others at a high level.

Scottie is a decent passer but he doesn't have the handles to create advantages.

Dude it was a joke, I should'vemade it green font. Remember how Scottie wanted to be the PG. Sorry :)

Hard to say he's been thrown to the wolves when i get annoyed every time coach takes him out.

And when we look better with him than with poeltl. And it's not like Mamu hasn't played well enough to get more run too.

CMB's earning it imo.
