ORL sends: Desmond Bane, Jett Howard
MEM sends: Ja Morant, 2026 frp (less valuable of MEM and PHX)

Bane, Howard and JI for Derozan and Schroder ... I dont like what I see in Bane. He doesn't fit. His defense rotations are weak ..he doesn't seem to be able to non ball dominant.

I think you'd have to put Suggs in there instead of Bane to make it happen. Not sure Memphis wants Bane back and not sure Magic would want the headaches associated with Ja, but interesting.

If we could get Ja for Suggs and Jett that would be buying low. Ja would make us an instant contender. Worrybis his off court stuff, but if Bane gave a good character reference I’d back our culture in

I'd instantly love a Suggs for Ja swap

Just what we need. A career 31% 3pt shooter who is shooting 14% from deep this season.

Not to mention that the Grizzlies don't do that, it doesn't help. Another player that wants to be the 1st option and can't shoot a 3?

First, Memphis isn’t taking the call if PB or Wagner aren’t included. It also makes absolutely zero sense.

It wouldn't be boring

...you can dissect the fit, the risks, the chemistry concerns...but it would be a talent and ceiling upgrade...could also be a monumental bust.

But I'm in...and I'd think they might have to add due to their need to move and the fact that they'd be getting a young, dynamic player back, who happens to have a phenomenal descending deal as well.

Like I was trying to get in the summer with KP, we need a true 4th option, 5th option, center as a 3 point threat reminiscent of SVG’s 4-out surrounding Dwight (now Paolo & Franz). I kept trying to say we didn’t add enough shooting, we still give the ball to our 4th and 5th options a lot and then don’t trust them or they don’t shoot well.

The list of trade targets is maybe zero. They need to be 3 point capable and 7 foot. I am not opposed to a midrange sniper 7 footer, but the kind where the FT% suggests he will shoot 3’s eventually. And we lost too much size so we extra need a 7 footer’s wingspan for the defense, their defense is like priority #2.

We thought it was obvious we needed a 7 footer last draft, but I think the FO will get its reasoning for one eventually, and we might get a good Ryan Anderson type steal which is something better than nothing.

The other good news is that cap space is proving a trade asset in and of itself. So once the Magic carve it out with Goga, Jett, and perhaps one of WCJ and JI, we have some trade pull. Especially with 1st swaps and 2nds. And with the richer roster, we might even have one surprise bench piece willing to put up.

Carter is probably closer to what you are looking for than any player you can actually get.

I said it myself, Magic would benefit from 3 point shooting, shot blocking C, but such player pretty much either costs $30M a year or flat out doesn't exist ( Turner? Still terrible rebounder )

Id do just about anything involving Suggs/JI/Jett/Penda/AB for Morant then make Paolo the 5, Franz the 4, TDS the 3, Bane the 2, Ja the 1, run 3s for TDS/Bane/Franz, let Ja and Paolo beat up on 1/5 pick and rolls then run Tyus/Jase/Stagger Franz&P5 with WCJ and eventually Moe in the 2nd unit.

Also this is why I’d make a terrible GM.

I mean it would be exciting at least. You definitely gotta fire Mose in favor of like D'Antoni or Nash though

I completely agree. It’s a near-zero list of players. And after KP, Turner, Reid went by, I think my list was on WCJ again basically.

I think we pick ourself up on not getting Kristaps Porzingis much easier this past summer, and put him high on the list. Kick the tires on if ATL really needs him at the deadline or after the season. I think he has the profile to play out a much longer career than people think.

Vooch is another one who has shooting touch with high level skills. He’s on my list, but once again, CHI’s run might keep him off the block at the Deadline and next summer. He doesn’t quite pass 7 foot, but that’s something we might have to sacrifice on because what we need is hard to find.

Myles Turner is maybe the best chance. But it’d probably be after a Giannis trade, if/whenever the heck that happens.

I think a lot of young bigs are making very fast impacts in the league. Maybe one of them shows signals for spacing out the floor within time. Or it’s proof of concept for ORL to trade back into the 1st in a draft to get theirs.

Man..... People are now sour on Bane too? 8 games into the season. Let them figure things out. Players and coaching staff. Happy for the extra days after a 5 game road trip. We aren't making our expectations.. . Yet .... But they are a work in progress still... No matter how you cut it. The more they play.... The more they get experience.... The more they tweak to get it right.

Haha... For real.

Not every team asserts dominance like the returning OKC champions. We're not the same teams.... We don't have the same players..... We're all on different paths. No use getting out of sorts because the first 8 games haven't been great. When these individuals hit their stride ... And hoping that happens soon.... We will see the public outlook.

At the same time, let people vent if we are 3-5. What are we all supposed to do? Collectively repeat the phrase "well get out of it" until it happens? Do you NOT have the bingo card assignment for the forum? The drinking game?

No is saying venting isn't fine. There's a difference between saying "damn... you'll played a sh***y game" ... than saying "You are sh**".... and i'm not saying that's the extremes, but the way it sounds sometimes... are longterm or drastic changes for knee jerk reaction and feelings. Mind you... i might be interpreting it all wrong. I am definitely disappointed by the play so far...disappointed by the effort, body language, energy, and focus at times. but neither is it realistic for me to think unknowns are knowns at 3-5... so early in the season. But there are more than enough signs of success as the iron is sharpened, confidence becomes clearer, reps produce habits and experience.... etc.
