In Kansas, the flashes Embiid showed were terrifiying. He didn’t need to be physically massive but his combination of skill, size and even quickness back then was crazy. He just kept becoming more insanely skilled but fatter, that he just thought he could do what he wanted because he was so talented. But even with the weight loss there’s only so much you can do on 2 bad knees and that’s really all there is to it, look at how much injuries changed Grant Hill, Penny etc and those guys were in shape. It’s caught up to Embiid but he can still kinda get away with it because of his height & skill level.
