Feel bad for Mavs fans but this is what happens when you get owners who have zero interest in basketball. All they want is just another casino. The most damning thing is that when the Luka trade happened, the new Mavs owners didn't even know Luka was considered that special so didn't care that Nico traded him. This is worse than Reinsdorf level of basketball idiocy, JR at least knew MJ was a pretty good basketball player.

I guess big picture, if there's someone really to blame it's Silver for approving a sale to owners who don't care anything about the game but just want to monetize. Oh wait, that perfectly describes Silver himself.

The billion dollarization of everything has existentially ruined this decade. Obviously it’s been going on for a while (forever in some sense), but what a bleak outlook that all the greedy nerds, oil and real estate tycoons and slum lords took ownership of everything from sports to art, music and movies.

He's someone I've wanted to add to this team for a few years now. He always seems to stand out whenever we play him.

Cavs @ Heat game went bananas. 0.4 sec left in OT Mitchell ties the game for Cavs. Wiggins wins it 140-138 for Heat with 3 foot alley oop dunk. In 0.4 sec.

Flagg finally had a Flagg game, going 26/9/4.

And apparently that wasn't enough to save Nico Harrison's job. Who will probably go down as the worst to ever do it.

Duren and Cade are probably the best Big and guard duo in the NBA right now.

Zach should opt in to that final year but will most likely opt out. He been talking about wanting win a bit much these past few years.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

What a wild surprise. Trade watch:

Davis, Klay, Gafford, PJ, D’Lo
Sabonis, Lavine, Demar, Schroder, Westbrook
JJJ, Morant
Zion

Maybe Kawhi, Harden, Trae. Lot of overpriced/damaged goods… maybe George. Although with him, Kyrie, etc. they just have to wait until they’re back on the court.

Contending buyers (some longshots):

Everyone else? The playoffs, particularly east, seem wide open. I could see Miami, Detroit, and even Toronto getting aggressive.

Miami has a lot of salaries and prospects to make a power-play, and the coaching staff could maximize guys like AD or Zion.. strategize their availability for April, get them on that South Beach muscle juice.

Klay, Schroder, and Russ are 15th men. No reason for a contender to get one of them. The rest of the guys can be useful, although of course AD, Ja, and Zion have availability issues, to put the matter mildly.

I wouldn’t mind acquiring Sabonis. I wouldn’t give up too much considering his weaknesses but he does have skills that could replace what vuc brings while being younger. Im not giving up Noa in such a deal because you would need what Noa potentially brings to balance out Sabonis lack of defense.

15th men is harsh. Westbrook’s numbers are quite good to start, and Schroder and Klay can help any contender’s bench. Klay’s having a rough start, but his shot will come around. They put him in a situation where there is no PG (Cooper Flagg for the first 5 games???) and at this point, all he should be doing is taking open 3Ps… not 1-leg fadeaways off-the-dribble.

Not saying these guys net lotto picks, but a decent asset (struggling prospect like Sheppard, late fpr, pair of 2nds) is possible in the right deal. Rockets, Wolves, Warriors need the depth.

If they wanted another casino then they should've bought another casino instead of buying the Mavs.

I imagine that trading Luka reduced the value of the Mavs overall...? It was a dumb, pointless move and now they're firing the GM.

Nico Harrison will be on the Lakers staff within 2 years. If not, you'll never hear from him again. What team would even hire him to clean the towels at this point?

I wonder if there is a deal where we can put Pat in a deal along with expiring(s) to get back a bad contract (like Monk or Schroeder) plus Keegan Murray?

The only players I'd be keen on is AD, Gafford and JJJ.

JJJ I don't think they will trade, even if they decide to rebuild. AD is on the older side, and his inability to stay healthy is not going to get better as he gets older. Which leaves Gafford, but even he has his own injury concerns, but he is on a relatively decent contract despite it being a little long.

The only way I'd make a play for Gafford though is a straight swap with Vuc, and to be fair, we probably would lose more than we gain at least in the short term, because despite Vuc's deficiencies on the defensive end, he is generally always healthy and ready to play, he is an important hub to our defense, and is a 3 point threat. Whereas Gafford will be suited to play at a high speed, and bring a defensive presences. We'd basically have him and Collins playing a similar role for our team, and the hope is that both can stay healthy enough when the season matters.

All the other players are a hard pass, and that includes Zion and I was actually advocating to trade for him this off season. But he is just never going to stay healthy, and with Giddey becoming our best player, it negates a strength of Zion being a ball handler and making plays. And none of the above is really factoring how we'd acquire any of these players based on matching salaries and whether we have the right type of offer to seal the deal.
Why so serious?

No to Murray, now that he is on a 28 million per contract.
