Yall watched way more Gmen than me this year. Whats up with the "Next" Micah Parsons. Is he suspect, or a product of a bad Defensive Coordinator.
I feel like true monsters impose they will even with bad DCs, and right now the numbers and film looks pedestrian.

The pressures and advance stats suggest is the bad defensive coordinator and our secondary being a mess.
But at the end of the day I thought he would get home a bit more (finishing off sacks) and make more of an impact on run plays by being disruptive. I would say I certainly see the potential. But the surrounding have been rough. He also has had 3 officials sacks called back for defensive penalties like illegal contact ect...
I mean he is getting a bunch of quick pressures I think that ultimately is what you wanted. I have to believe eventually some turn to sacks.

he gets a lot of quick pressures but it doesn't feel like he gets a lot of "high quality" quick pressures.
just eye test, but he doesn't jump off the screen like micah parsons and von miller did. like he'll force the qb off his spot and step up in the pocket a little bit but it doesn't seem like he's winning by a lot consistently outside of like the chargers game against their backups

fair i think Bowen is a damn fool though...everything is so vanilla. We don't move guys around its seems like its just 4 guys in a traditional pass rush set. No creativity no deception ect...also it doesn't help our secondary is riddled with injuries and teams play short quick passing game vs us because they know we play soft coverage because of our DC and lack of talent on the back end.

This is with Bowen lining him up at EDGE barely a third of the snaps.mpharris36 wrote:TerrenceClarke wrote:Ight MPH and GONYK

i took a look at their TFLs and QB hits and i think it backs up my quality pressures theory. i just don't think he's winning as clean as those other 2 guys as evidenced by the TFLs and QB hits.
in their rookie seasons:
micah parsons: 13 sacks, 20 TFL, 30 QB hits
von miller: 11.5 sacks, 19 TFL, 29 QB hits
carter after 10 games: 0.5 sacks, 1 TFL, 8 QB hits (5 against the chargers where he was very dominant)
yeah we could be a bit more creative with carter but with micah and von, you could always have just stuck them on the edge, let them work and they'd be just fine. he also gets played at LB from time to time and asked to spy as well but it feels like he just is lacking some juice compared to von and micah

Unfortunately it does seem like Schoen will stick around. Daboll really should have been fired before this season even began. About time. Just not a lot of faith they will hire the right guy next.

Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
all of abdul carters snaps against the bears. he has some wins but not enough to make a play on either the QB or RB. he did have 1 dominant rep where he looked parsons-esque at 2:50, but just can't make the play

Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
I’m of the mind set that that if you that dude at getting to the QB, bad DC/ defense or not you should pop on film and in the stat sheet.
We will see. But the knock on him coming out was that he was light in the ass and not that physical. His calling card was his speed. Looks like the former is rearing its head a little based on what I’m reading here. We will see in year two.

If Dart can't go, I hope we're done honoring Russ' legacy and finally let Winston play.

These numbers are skewed though, bc Carter started the year and still plays off ball. He’s third on the depth chart at edge, so he’s getting a fraction of snaps off edge Parsons and Miller got.

according to PFF, in 2025 thus far, he's had 480 snaps which is 7th highest among all EDGE's in the league, mostly because he haven't had our bye week yet, but even if you want to say that he only had 8 games worth of snaps because he rotates, i don't think he's hitting that parsons/von mark.
just eye test, he doesn't pop of fthe screen the way those guys did all the time outside of the chargers game

Schoen is staying so it honestly doesn't matter who we hire. He'll be gone in a year or two guaranteed.
I won't be surprised if they just keep Kafka.

Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
The issue with Daboll was that he was risking Dart trying to save his job. Dart has been evaluated for four concussions running him into the ground.
A lot of people judging Schoen but I’m more looking at the Maras and Tischs. Bad hire after bad hire after bad hire at both GM and coach. That’s on ownership.

Trust bro. Everyone here blames Mara first and foremost. The thing is that he will never not be the owner so we stuck with him.So the only person we can ask for change from is Schoen.
