You need to replace Gibson. You already have Harden from 2009 draft

He's on my team.

Surprised nobody targeted Blake here.

I don't really see a roster where he stands out as a particularly good fit.

MAYBE JP with Haliburton as a 2 man partner and JJJ to cover him defensively/spacing-wise? He'd have struggled to afford him though and he wouldn't be worth sacrificing any of his core to fit in there.

I'm not a big fan of his game. He's a great offensive four who's good in the P/R but he doesn't shoot or play good defense so it takes a specific fit to make him work. And he's good at what he does but not so good that it's worth fuding on fit to get him in there.

I thought this would be a draft where we'll see Simmons again

Considered him briefly as a defensive specialist. The PF pool for a Jokic team was slim pickings. The only conventional option was Siakam who got selected before my 2nd pick. Couldn't select Aaron Gordon cause him and Jokic were in the same draft class. The usual suspects like AK47, Rodman, Bobby Jones, Marion, etc were obviously ineligible. Barely missed out on Ibaka who was drafted in 2008. Wanted Bam in round 4, but was sniped one pick before my turn. Was kinda desperate for a defensive PF tbh, but not desperate enough to seriously consider Simmons.

I actually think he would have been a great fallback plan for you once all the obvious Luka sidekicks were off the board in round 2. For instance, something like

Luka - Jrue - Brown - Blake - Turner

Blake was a monster finisher. Would make a terrific PnR partner for Luka. Could hide them defensively in a switch-heavy scheme since they both have the size to switch on wings.

Never considered Blake myself cause the frontcourt defense alongside Jokic would have been abysmal.

Anybody considered Zion? I think he'd make Larry's team straight-up unbeatable, although Dipo isn't half bad either.

I think Simmons could've worked nicely for me in a lineup like

Jrue Edwards Kawhi Simmons Turner

Or even

Jrue Edwards Kawhi Simmons KAT

But I thought this was unnecessary risk

I also heavily considered Simmons.

Simmons / Klay / Dort / '25 Anunoby / Embiid

But agreed, it was an unnecessary risk.

In an Embiid team, trying Simmons is even more problematic

Don't love the fit with Ant either tbh. Ball dominant non-shooters are very tough sells in the modern game. I think you're better off without him.

2025 Ant was a big time shooter though now

For sure, but he was also ball dominant sorta like a poor man's modern version of MJ/Kobe. Wouldn't pair him with another ball dominant player, much less a non shooter who's practically a liability off the ball.

I guess Larry's team could have found a role for Simmons. Pretty much anybody fits with Steph, Tatum and Zinger, but why bother? Would much rather have Dipo (or Zion).
