Wolves are the first really big test for Jokic.

Agee with this. The schedule/ injury luck has helped massively. Will be good to see how Denver shapes up against a good, healthy team who also happens to be their kryptonite.

Interesting- when will that happen? Maybe this year !

But as long as jokic exist luka won’t be the best player - and as long we wemby exist he won’t be the most talented-
And as long as sga exist he won’t be the most consistent
Wemby is NOT more talented then Jokic. He is much taller and longer and he's more athletic and agile but..he's certainly not more "talented"

True, but they will likely be down 2 starters.

This is true, although if Braun and Johnson are both out for the game then it just becomes another one where injuries will play a major part. It'd be fun to see a full strength Nuggets team goes against a full strength contender. That said, the regular season matchups are rarely indicative of how the playoffs will go.

Despite last night, Zubac has been one of the best Jokic defenders in the league. He's strong as an ox and holds his own in the paint in addition to being a great shotblocker. Jokic hasn't been bothered by Gobert for a while now.

The Wolves' success against the Nuggets has really come down to bottling up Murray.

Well one game is just one game and not nessescarily indicative of something definitive

But on paper, i'd say the Nuggets had a mismatch with the Wolves. I think this iteration of the Nuggets has alot more options vs. the Wolves (including going in spurts to their twin tower line-up)

Def an interesting matchup

Well, the Clippers are just trash this season and are trying to give OKC Peterson or Dybantsa, lol.

+27 BPM over a 6-game span is just absurd. Historical stuff we're witnessing.

Jokic tied the season high (55 points) of SGA in 10 less minutes. Had 52 with 1 min left in the 3rd quarter, and then only attempted one field goal from there on. Man coulda dropped 70 last night with ease...crazy.

Man I don’t even know wtf Jokic is…. It’s Like Zeus came down to play basketball and disguised himself as a big goofy second rounder. But we know something ain’t right about Jokic… he is not “human”. Something off about him dropping 25 in a quarter after he said he started off “slow”

The whole summer he was fat and drinking beer and watching luka and giannis lift weights and sga try on designer clothes and make the press rounds… and he just sat there getting better…. Like he downloaded upgrades from the matrix - naw wemby ain’t more talented - equally talented and more physically gifted - maybe - there is nothing they can’t do realistically. The difference is Jokic has done all ready at the highest level and we expect wemby to do it

Delusional.

aaron gordon the 3rd best player had a 50 point game 2 weeks ago. jamaal murray averaged 30 ppg after the first week +.

Please show me where I said Jokic is carrying the Nuggets. At this point you’re just trolling.

jokic is like next level but we need to discuss why this stat should be call the STEPH CURRY STAT...like LEBRON...this is the Steph...he pretty much owns all the spots..

oh and cade's rTS% should disqualify him from consideration of being in the top 5... and Giannis with horrible FTs and SGA with suspect 3s got really good rTS%

Multiple All-D caliber players, multiple role players that can shoot, pass and defend. Their 4th-5th best player just had a 33/19 game.
And what exactly is jokic rolling with this year?

Yeah but look at the games that make up that stat for Steph. There's a lot of overlap.

For example rows 2, 3 are using the same games for the '5 game stretch'.

In fact, if we applied the same logic to Jokic, he'd have rows #1 and #2 on this chart, just by adding another row for 'Span Started - 2025-11-03 --> 'Span Ended - 2025-11-10'.

Presti is a genius no doubt, seems like every guy on that roster could have a much bigger role on a different team. with that said, both last year and this year thus far, the numbers consitently paint SGA as the primay driver of the team's success. no1 is doubting the Thunder are a "well put together team" to say the least but without SGA on the court - those guys do alot worse

fwiw, unlike past iterations of these Nuggets, it's fair to say this Nuggets team is also very well constructed in general and speficially constructed to maximizing the Joker's strengths, just like the squad around SGA is built to maximize his

SGA is def carrying the Thunder, I don't see an argument for the contrary tbh. does he have a great system, org, coach, GM and players around him? ofc..but so does Jokic. yes, the Thunder without SGA on the court have been suprisingly better than the Nuggets without Jokic on the court but still they are much better with SGA than without him, which would kinda be the definition of a carry job

btw, Jokic's on\off etc. are absoultely ridicilous atm meaning, despite the Nuggets having guys like AG and Murray who started the season very well and others playing well (more or less), they still can't seem to do much without Jokic on the court while being basically the best team in the league with him on the court, in that sense - Jokic's Nuggets are also a massive carry job...

both are pretty close in the race so far imo, both are cooking the entire league, consistently and literally every night, both are leading their teams to elite SRS and records and have the benefit of playing around 30 mpg (which actually hurts their raw stats but demonstrates just how dominant both have been)

I thought Jokic was slightly better last season than SGA individually, but he missed some games (including 4 games around the birth of his child) and OKC obviously had like 15 more wins, so that individual gap in favour of Jokic was negated by playing less games than SGA and by OKC winning alot more (even tho much of that was due to Okc's vastly superior depth)

this season thus far, the individual gap between the two is significantly larger and games played are even, so atm it's clearly Jokic ahead, even if the Thunder one less loss and even if it was a few games, the gap rn would still tilt it in favour of the Joker

but the season is very young obviously
This is the balance missing on this thread. All the "its not close" nonsense and fanboyism on both sides really is just that, nonsense.

so what you telling me is if we use that logic Jokic is a 7 foot Steph that can rebound and pass better...

wait a guy named Canada Dry thinks its being fair and balanced to give SGA more credit for being the catalyst for OKCs greatness and saying Denver is a solid team around Jokic and by making those statements is thus drawing SGA closer to Jokic ...you don't say...
Image

look lets be honest...everyone loves SGA...he is most likely the second or at worse 3rd best player on earth behind only Jokic and maybe Giannis or in some peoples minds Luka...but he aint better than Jokic.. there are opinions that come into play for 2nd thru 5th...and wemby has taken Tatums spot as the last guy in the argument for top 5...but there really isn't a debate about number one.
Jokics highs are Higher than SGAs and he is just as consistent and as solid of a leader,

Jokic is more consistent with better leadership and poise than Luka with his Highs just as high,

his ability to do everything Giannis can do from scoring and rebounding without the athleticism with better FTs and 3pt %

he isn't as freakish as wemby but he gets stat lines minus the blocks that make you think he is wilt

..and when tatum plays jokic just does everything better than him in a vacuum as well.

we dont Hate SGA...he is to me the second best player on earth with giannis 3...but its hard to jump big joke when he gives you 55 and doesn't even really take a shot in the 4th...
